15:47:49 Germans planning w/ map & firing guns, mortars, etc. from hideout. Allies firing heavy artillery & men looking on. CU & firing from under camouflage netting. CU faces. Plane flies overhead. 85th and 87th Regiments push uphill on Mount Belvedere.
15:50:05 Germans firing from on top of Mt. Belvedere. Men move up hillside thru smoke. 87th regiment on road. Wounded evacuated. Men running alongridge. German Jeager Regiment & 10th moving up- throwing grenades, firing mortars, rifles; confrontation & fierce battle. By 10Feb45 making headway. German veteran testifies about success of American Mountain Division. 24Feb45 Riva & Belvedere were secured. German says how hard each side fought. End titles.
