Thanks for these vids! One tip, when adding the little fade on each track, you can do all the tracks together in the row per little section and they start and end around the same time. Select a few bars outside of the track and drag to highlight the beginning or end of all the tracks together and then type Command F. It will add the fade to them all in each section together at once instead of dragging each one individually. Big time saver for people who add multiple harmonies/layers!

Omg LNA thank you so much for creating this course. It is just what I needed for my auditions.. I've never mixed before... I was wondering.. since I'm using my own project.. would you recommend creating stems and starting in a new project? Does any processing need to be done to the tracks before I make stems of them? All the best!
@LNADoesAudioStuff Жыл бұрын
You're so welcome! And it's personal preference really, but I always like exporting stems to a new set to start again, in a way :)

Hey :) This Course is just awesome, thanks ALOT for sharing your knowledge ;) I have a little question regarding that limiter-thing: Do I have to setup the limiter or the volume of my master-track on -5,35 (because there's that big arrow pointing on that number)...? Or do I have to setup the limiter at all? Or do I just drag it in on my master track and leave everything as it is..? Would be really cool to get an answer to that, even if its just a small question :D Have a nice weekend!

Nice vid thanks. Wouldn't you have saved a lot of editing time if you had applied your gate technique to your vocals during recordings?
@LNADoesAudioStuff3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, but editing manually can give more detailed editing, which in the long run will sound more refined :)

Hi sorry, another quick question when you write and record you tracks, before you export them as stems, where do you have your mixer levels set in the recording process?
@LNADoesAudioStuff3 жыл бұрын
Good question. I would have them again low enough so you leave good amout head room. Main thing is that all dynamics are preserved and there is no limitation 😁

Why would you group drums as a low-end when they include hihat and snare?
@patrickhall78843 жыл бұрын
Hi Lina, just a heads up. Your all versions mixing template doesnt seem to work in Ableton 11 Intro. Saving becomes and remains disabled even after authorizing via Abletons website. The glue compressor used on the template isnt available In Live 11 intro.

Hey! One question: Before the preparation the tracks for mixing what are the best settings for great stems? Did you already processed them to sound like you want or just keep it simple and raw? (Without any fx or process)
@LNADoesAudioStuff3 жыл бұрын
Hi good question. I separate effect usage to two categories: aesthetic and mixing. Aesthetic usage means it changes the sounds timbre and makes the sound awesome in it's quality. Mixing makes all tracks sound good together.
@Itsruffyouknow3 жыл бұрын
@@LNADoesAudioStuff ok! But what are, for you, the best settings to export properly stems? And why you put -11.30dB? Because they have diferent volumes anyway
@gbigbo_zjebeezjeboo3 жыл бұрын
Great course. Does mixing always start from a set of stems=wav files, or can you also eg do the following or isn't that advised: use session view (containing midi and/or audio clips) to compose a song and then record your session view (playing the scenes/clips while recording) or directly compose a song in arrangement view. Then in the same project in arrangement view immediately start mixing that recorded/composed song ?
@LNADoesAudioStuff3 жыл бұрын
That works too but I like starting from a fresh session :)

Do you usually export and import them again , or do you just flat the midi tracks to audio ?
