Man, this was a trip down memory lane! PBS was also my introduction to British sitcoms (and Doctor Who before the reboot came out). While I watched Are you Being Served the most, Last of the Summerwine was my favorite and I adored Peter Sallis as Cleggy (and I only later realized that he also voiced Wallace from Wallace and Gromit). Oddly enough, I don't think I watched a number of the shows on your list (at least full episodes anyway) so I probably should take a look at them. BTW, have you ever heard of Chef starring Lenny Henry and "To the Manor Born" starring Penelope Keith from "A Good Life"? If you haven't, I'd say give them a watch if you can find them. I always did love Lenny Henry's shouting.

Now that you've mentioned it, I have seen clips of "To the Manor Born" while channel surfing on Saturday evenings, and have seen several episodes of The Good Life, but nothing of Chef with Lenny Henry. Might need to look up some clips.

Wait, “The Young Ones” was also on PBS in the United States? I remember watching it on MTV. The only two shows truly on the list I never watched, but heard about, were “Dad’s Army” and “Only Fools and Horses”. I did also watch “The Good Life”.

I don't beliee The Young Ones was on PBS, but I added it to the list because it was one of British Comedy's gamechangers.

Have you ever heard of a show called the secret diaries of Desmond Pfeiffer? It's a show that was made for UPS that's basically American Blackadder 3, but with a black butler, and Lincoln as Prince George, and with really awful jokes instead of funny ones

Thanks for commenting, Headphones! I think I've heard of it before, but thankfully I've never watched it.

@@HeadphonesUK Eh...if it didn't air on PBS or an American Public Television subsidiary station in the United States or Canada, I probably won't cover it in this series.
