Lo Bosworth on Making $25K-$100K per Episode of The Hills and Starting Her $25M Wellness Company

This week, Jason is joined by reality television star turned entrepreneur Lauren “Lo” Bosworth. After quickly becoming a fan favorite on the MTV series Laguna Beach and The Hills, Lo spent time at UCLA studying history before shifting gears to launch her personal wellness brand Love Wellness in 2016. Lo breaks down her time on reality tv by revealing how she only got paid $3,000 for the first season of Laguna Beach to going in to make $25k to $100k per episode on The Hills, how she balanced being a major reality star while attending college, and what role the early years of social media played in her career path. Lo also shares all the different interests she explored before launching her company, what inspired her to start Love Wellness and fill a gap in the women’s personal health market, and all the science and education behind it. I always found her the most insecure. She was only comfortable in a controlled narrative which is why she became so disrespectful to Audrina when she was close to LC. She seemed to need to force her way and her friends hands. When this didnt work out she would lash out to try to control more. Happy peaceful people dont act like that. Im sure it was mostly orchastrated by mtv but lc definitely was the only character who had low self worth which is why she couldnt authentically exist but had to play a mean girl

Lo's product placement as she has shared was not only driven by "luck" it was pioneering. Sometimes the obvious is right in front of you but is easily overlooked. I am happy for her success. I actually disagree with what everyone from the show keeps saying that they should have been paid more from the beginning. That's how it works in the entertainment industry and pretty much every other 'real world' job in existence. You start small, earning less and then if you're 'good' you get hired again and earn the big bucks. Obviously a lot of it is down to luck but the people that 'made it' are the ones who had the 'it factor' lol
