Trippy!! This one truly does sound like it’s been at the bottom of the ocean for 30 years. 😊👏

I really love music that sounds buried. That Wolfgang Voigt sounds through the wall is always cool.

Thanks. It's a weird synth/effects unit. It really seems to work a bit better as a processor for me.

Very cool. Similar aesthetic to the work of The Caretaker.

That's a very kind comparison. I've never actually listened to Everywhere at the End of Time all the way through. I read about it a while ago, started in and never got back to it. Definitely need to finish it.

@@riotbell5365 Persistent Repetition of Phrases and An Empty Bliss are also worth checking out! They’re far less challenging to listen to I find. I don’t think I’ve done a full play through either. It gets a little gnarly at the end. 😅

@@Mike-nb8ot I'll definitely check them out. Unbeknownst to me, my wife is apparently a big Caretaker fan. Which I just found out today. She also really likes An Empty Bliss.

If you approach the Strega from a conventional synth perspective, which you seem to be doing (asking for MIDI and complaining about touch plates, for example), it is a terrible synth. If you approach it as one of the few innovative synth designs in the last 5 years among all those reissues and standard subtractive synths, it is an amazing synth. It is not something that you should start synthesis with... or maybe it is exactly that! ;)

I hear you. It's certainly a "does its own thing" kind of synth. Kudos to Alessandro and Make Noise for pursuing a unique vision. Honestly, I think it's more of a me problem. I've spent the last two years exploring a variety of drone and experimental synths and modules, which has been a fun journey, but I'm growing a bit weary of learning new interfaces and struggling with esoteric layouts and designs. I realize that experimentation is some people's life bread when it comes to synthesis, but lately I've been yearning for simpler things. Selling a whole bunch of stuff off, trying to simplify, acknowledging that I'm not the "avant-gardist" I thought I was. Obviously, none of that's the Strega's fault, and I've certainly had fun engaging with it. Everyone has a different musical path I suppose.

@@riotbell5365 I make my living as an "avant-gardist" of some sort and will try to incorporate the Strega into my improvisation setup. I plan to make some videos on that process in the new year - mostly to have deadlines for developing processes and sharing them with an audience, even a virtual one.

@@KorhanErel Good luck in your endeavors. I'm subscribed to your channel and really have a strong appreciation of experimental music. All the respect in the world to people who can make a living at it. Looking forward to see how you incorporate the Strega in the future.
