If it’s helpful to know from a viewer’s perspective (and one who has had some heavy-footed upstairs neighbours), the headset mic *definitely* doesn’t pick up nearly as much of the upstairs noise.

That intro to Loud Love where Kim is playing the kind of wobbly violin guitar intro(lol sorry idk the right term) and just before the song kicks on Chris matches his vocals to the sound and devolves it into a scream. Heard this hundreds maybe be thousands of times and still goosebumps every time.

I know what you mean! I think (as a guitarist) it's Kim's pushed amp tone at the edge of feedback and he is just riding the notes. however he gets it, you are right, it is a great sound!
