Load Grim Tools Characters In Game Using Get Grim Dawn and GD Editor

1. Download Odie’s Save File Editor from here: forums.crateen...
2. Get your build link from Grim Tools (the URL)
3. Head to getgrimdawn.uc... 9 and paste the link.
4. Select the character from the dropdown menu
5. Click “Download Character JSON”
6. Find the downloaded file called charData.json (check your downloads folder)
7. Click and drag charData.json over the gd-edit.exe icon
8. Enter a name for your character
9. Select a level for your character
10. Jump in game to play your character.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me. I get the link, use the make-char command but the character doesn't appear ingame, regardless if I use the local directory or steam-cloud. Edit: Figured out I had to disable cloud-saves in the ingame settings to make the character appear but whenever I enable that setting the char disappears again. How can I fix this?

From memory, there are two folders that GD stores the character saves in. One of them is for the non-cloud-saves, the other one is for the cloud-saves. There isn't a 'clean' fix, I think I just got used to playing without cloud saves as there is no 50 character limit that way. But, the 'easy' fix is simply to make the character, then copy it to the cloud-saves folder, wherever that happens to be. I think that will work. Whenever tampering with this stuff, always make a back up of your characters and stash first!

@@vycttor18 hi! Sorry for the delay. I've seen this issue with one other person so far - they were using OneDrive as their save folder. Are you using the game's default save folder for characters?
