Unbelievable. Do you not have companies down there that provide short term warehousing for companies that run into that type of problem.? 2300 dollars would buy quite a bit of storage. But hey if they want to pay you to drive back and forth. So be it. I am with you. That type of waste drives me crazy.

Load rejected...I picked up a load of floor-stacked platform shoes from York, PA (no driver unload) going to then Macy's warehouse in ATL, GA. When I got there I only had 1hr left on the clock. After waiting for an hour Macy's told me that I would have to unload the 53' trailer floor stacked one shoe box at a time while they inspect each one. I told them (no driver unload) on dispatch and that I was out of time. They rejected the load. I took the load to a drop yard in Livonia, GA. And left it. Nearly 20 years later I think those shoes are still at the drop-yard 🤔🤔🤔
@tuvoca8252 жыл бұрын
Upcharges in the contracts are where the money is. Let them count and inspect every shoe but charge for the delay. Get it in the contract. Brokers should be in on that to make it stick. If there were upchathes on things like that, freight could be cheaper overall by reducing abuse.

A lot of the shortage of truck drivers is due to crap like this you pull in and they can't or won't unload it and nobody knows what to do. It is so inefficent and it's been that way since I started driving in the early 80's. Somebody could make a lot of money if they could get it figured out,I always said if the truck was there longer than 2 hours and not loaded or unloaded the clock should start at 150$ per hour they would do something in a hurry.
@JClark26002 жыл бұрын
When loads get rejected like that do the businesses involved get penalized? Like you said you had to cancel a load because of the rejected load and then Convoy would downgrade your rating. Do something like that happen to the businesses? I used to work in a warehouse right after high school and we made power supplies and shipped them to customers. It was a big operation and it was just me and another guy in the warehouse. We always knew what was being loaded and unloaded. There was one time when a customer send power supplies back to us without an RMA and without our knowledge. I contacted the sales rep on our side to figure out what was up. She called them and had the whole thing figured out in under 10 mins. Sucks that not all businesses care about the drivers who are stuck in the middle without pay.
@MrPjcrews2 жыл бұрын
Crazy day for ya buddy. Love how Shippers want trucking companies to hold their sh*t for free or next to it. Even if you had an extra 10 trailers and a yard it would still cost you $$$$ to hold it. I do know when it comes time to have a tax audit, companies will use trucking companies to empty out their warehouses and "be in transit" so they don't legally have to pay taxes on that frieght because it's not technically in their possession to sell or use. Even if they have multiple warehouses. They will use the taxable write off system instead of being taxed on that product. It's a strategy for sure but that should still come at a price even if just sitting in a yard, AKA: warehousing at a trucking company. Change them for it and double down. Have a great day, Paul C West Sacramento California
@tuvoca8252 жыл бұрын
There has to be a way to close that hole. Truckers need more lobbiests. They IRS is leaving money on the table if they allow that. Maybe they just need an audit from a forensic accountant, but despite it being the most effective government job... we don't have enough of them.

I'm literally just admitting my own deficit and how Justin literally is a better person then me. Takes a big man to admit his faults. Takes an even bigger man to realize, admit, own, and do his best to change those faults. I haven't graduated to that level yet. Working on it though. Isnt it a violation for trucks your size to be occupying the left lane on a two lane highway?? You have multiple trucks passing you and driving at high speeds in the left lane?
@perthdave1002 жыл бұрын
yes, if you are occupying the left lane constantly and not moving to the right lane when there is space, you can be issued a fine, this applies to any vehicle of any size, maybe it looks like other trucks are driving at high speeds, i would think most truck drivers would keep to the speed limit of that truck or on that stretch of highway, there is times when you have to go above both speed limits to overtake other vehicles, i think there is exceptions to occupying the left lane, for example, when there is more traffic on the right lane than there is on the left lane.
