Life changes when you travel with your dog, Rusty is young and can get into the pickup & SUV, but as he gets some age on him we will have to bring out the ramp for him. We are the same with Rusty, we allow certain human foods but he's not allowed to decide and does not bother our food. But he knows when his items are pulled out and waits! It's more work to take the pups, but we wouldn't have it any other way, they are so much loving company! Sir Opie you have to mind Dad, he knows best!

What a great video, and I agree that having your dog with you is awesome. It's great that you have trained him so well, most people don't. But if you don't mind, I'd like to put in my 2 cents worth. Punishing a dog when you catch it doing something wrong is necessary, that's how they learn. But punishing it hours later or even the next day, for the same thing doesn't work. The dog won't understand why it's in trouble again when it hasn't done anything wrong.

A Rottweiler in a cabover was not a lot of fun. She was a big baby but man was she big and heavy. So i got a mini Doberman pincher instead. Now he fit perfectly between the dash and the glass. He slept there most of the day till he heard them brakes pop. He was mean when I said watch the truck. Well he loved rolaids yup he sure did. Well he got ahold of the unflavored ones and well he had foam around his mouth. I pulled into the TA on I 40 in west Memphis Arkansas went in to grab a cup and i heard over the intercom will the driver with the rabid dog please report to the fuel desk. Long story short Fritz had devoured 3 packs of rolaids and yup he looked like he was eating the glass to get to the man walking in front of the truck. Last time i kept rolaids in the truck.

If you're gonna run the same run for a month or so, you might consider a couple different routes, that is if feasible. But, how about possibly a bit of local history? Maybe pick a spot and throw in some interesting quips about interesting things that happened in the good ol' days? There's nothing quite as interesting as early American history to add interest. St Joe is full of James(Frank and Jesse) gang and other stuff. Quantrills raiders and the Jawhawkers were quite active in the area. Lewis and Clark up the Missouri river valley, etc. Just a thought. Doesn't have to be deep, but just some interesting add-ins. Safe travels Schmidt!

Watching you take the picture for your thumbnail for this video and it brought back how hard it was for us to shot our Easter video with 3 animals and 2 of them being farm animals. It was tuff. Pardner wanted to play with belt and Rochelle and not stay. Belt just wanted to wander around and eat grass and knock Hailey over. Rochelle was the easy one as she mostly just wanted to cry for her mom but didn’t try to get away. That 3 minute video took us 45 minutes to shot. We tried so hard to do it all in one take but finally gave up and just started picking up where we left off before one of the animals messed it up.
@theshepherdfarm51543 жыл бұрын
I have had Pardner for 5 years. He never touches food that’s not gave to him. My daughter walked out of the house and left a bunch of fresh deer meat on the table and he didn’t even go sniff it. Then one day about 2 months ago I set my plate of ribs down to go get something and the little brat stole one of my ribs. He got a talking to for that. Like you said he has never done that before so idk why he did it that time. Great video with some good advice about taking your dog with you in the truck. I would take Pardner with me everywhere I go if I could. Love my German Shepherd.

Glad to see your having good time with you and your pup. If he drives the truck then I’ll laugh and be impressed. Hah. (Should do a joke some on your viewer. Make look like he’s driving. Then have your wife drive truck off hahh and you’d be like) “Wha? Opie can drive stick? “. Hahh Still love that sound of kitty CAT and turbo boosting. But did you ever consider about doing quitter exhaust and/or maybe more Insulation inside the truck/under the hood/floor boards to help quite noise down some for your “ears” health sake and for your dog sake as well. Remember they have better hearing then we do. ? :). As I’ve said in past comment. My dad was heavy duty mechanic. He didn’t wear ear muffs much, in all those years working trucks/skids steers/forklifts all those years and now he paying the price with hearing lost. Don’t take hearing for granted. Like my dad did. Even with newer hearing aids.. imo they useless :(. love my father but he’ll never get his hearing back. :( Ps do you know trucker Stan ? ( kzbin.info) would love see you both maybe do a haul together sometime. Maybe CB radio talk with other or something. Two truck, w900 and 379 both deliver load somewhere needed :) Both running Cat engines. :) He’s been working on his new truck. It’s older 379 since he was in his accident like a yr ago and wrecked his other purple Peterbilt truck. A mistake that could happen anybody. :( kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zl6ucqyFjaiHiM0. (His 2004 379 truck he bought in nov/2020 ) Stay safe man, keep rubber side down :)

Not sure if there is any truth but was told there is a nation wide shortage for certain semi tires because everything is backed up due to the ship that was stuck in the suez canal days ago.
