Hey there. Im A student at UWP and I live on a Beef( once dairy) farm. I heard about that accident on Cty K. I was wondering where you sell your hay at. We live near Patch Grove and I know there's one at Prairie Du Chien. And Keep up the good work... More people need to know that farming is hard, labor intensive, and expensive. Its nice to see a guy in the area who does this and gets the word out.

Love the video but you guys load bales a lot different then I have ever done we stack the ones on the end up right to keep them from roiling back. And we stack 2 more on top of the rest of the load. It's best if you have a 35' goose neck trailer it's a lot quicker and easier

I hope you still lock them down.

what kind of grass do you bale? We have Alicia Bermudagrass which makes a excellent hay down here in south GA. Our bales are 4x5 and average between 800 to 1000pds. I loaded a trailer today also. Thanks for the video

Hey man, just curious why you don't set a row of rolls on top. [Hauling 11/load vs hauling 8/load].
@HowFarmsWork9 жыл бұрын
More wear and tear on the truck, more dangerous hauling.
@HerroRya8 жыл бұрын
+Tennessee Hillbilly Makes the load a lot more top heavy and dangerous especially when using a deck-over gooseneck and the added stress on the truck isn't worth the risk

What does a round bail weigh typically? I know it will vary with moisture, but what's the general weight range? Keep up the good work buddy.
@huronhockey89 жыл бұрын
And generally what is the cost of one?
@HowFarmsWork9 жыл бұрын
Our average was just over 1T/bale, and it was the heaviest stuff there, so I'd say a little less than that. ~$50-100/ton? I don't know what these sold for but I think that's a good price about this time of year.
@huronhockey89 жыл бұрын
Wow. they weigh that much. I'm surprised that bobcat would lift it that high without tipping. Our bobcat at the farm cant even pick up a full pallet of sad without two guys hanging from the back of it, and even then its pretty sketchy.
@madeljacky9 жыл бұрын
huronhockey8 our round straw bales which are 4 X 4's weigh in around 200 KG's which is about 440 pounds, It depends a lot on the moisture and the density the baler is set to. Round silage bales would be about 1 ton per bale.
@jayneseanard7 жыл бұрын
my 4 by 4s average 420 lbs to 460

Why do bales that were presumably in the building yall are pulling them out of have snow on them? That one was covered in snow and the end of the last one had caked on snow on it... Just wondering! OL J R :)
