This was a great job, a collection in Hartlepool and rrun it down to Leeds. I used a trailer called a Slider which I will go through in depth in the near future.

found this video while doing research into logistics for a class i'm taking, i wasn't entirely sure if shipping containers from boats or trucks would be able to be seamlessly transferred to trains without the need to unload and reload into a new container. this video pretty easily answered my question, and i have a new found appreciation for the simplicity and versatility of the classic metal box.

That was different! I've always wondered how those containers got on the trains. Now I've seen an insiders perspective! Cheers Steve, hope you are well mate and enjoying the weather!

I've always wondered how on Earth they keep track of which container is going where. The trains seem so random as they go by. There must be some sort of complex system to figure it all out.

Amazing isn't it. I enjoyed the Port of Tyne work and always wondered where the containers started from

Well today 4 year old kid woke up and asked how containers are loaded on trains, because he see trains from window every day. Then I went to youtube and showed him this. This was his morning cartoon movie.

sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but why did he need you to turn round to unload the container
@holmesjunction5 жыл бұрын
Seen it from the railway point a view a few times, but not from the lorry - very interesting. They always push the speed of rail service, but never mention the lorry driver hanging about. You didn't mention what size container you had, or why you had to turn it. Could it be H&S - try to prevent doors flying open on trains?
@JustSteve2475 жыл бұрын
No mate, it was so he could load further back as he had run out of room. This one was a 20ft load which was in the picture. I enjoyed this one also. Hope your well.
