A machine is only as good as its operator, and what we watch here, is the best that man and machine can achieve. Chris does himself with one machine and one truck more than a crew of "average" guys can do with twice the machinery... With grace and without swinging into a single thing!

I have watched equipment run all my life (I am 62) and have run some too so It amazes me I could sit here for hours and watch Chris work. Guess the reason is I like to see things done right and if they weren't then to be made right like this pond job. This is how stuff should be done. You couldn't hardly see the pond when he started and look at it now and he isn't close to being through. Don't know what they charge for work but I wouldn't hesitate one bit to write him a check when he gets through. I am telling you they operate on another level. Folks around me couldn't touch them as far as what they do and how they do it...

Chris is a master using a giant t-rex like monster to chew and clear clear with such power and get so much work done a regular homeowner could only dream of doing in a day, and he gets it done so easily looking with all the stress and decision making of each cut and tree fell on his shoulders and none on ours, that's why I think we watch :-).

Agreed, but the need for mixed hardwood and softwood chips especially those not completely dried isn’t to my knowledge a market that makes sense in a cost/benefit analysis. I absolutely could be wrong but for my area? Nope.
@fredthedigger82893 жыл бұрын
The reason that we chip our trees from tree clearing jobs is simply because it packs down better and condenses more than tree trash. We have a borrow pit that we dug sand out of, and are filling back in with tree trash, so we want to fit as much in there as we can.

Oh my Lord! I just skimmed through a video of another guy draining a pond. He could learn a LOT from watching your videos! He was very much an amateur. Didn't think to break the roots from trees before toppling them over. They broke all up, what a mess! and then, he ripped a hole in the pond dam..right in front of his excavator! Then he said.. I should prolly move over a bit.. Ya think?? lol I had to stop watching him, then.. couldn't take any more! Chris, it is so nice to watch you work, knowing that you are the best at what you do! You need to find a gas powered fan for the Brush pile. We used to dig a trench lay s corrugated whistle pipe in it set the fan at the end of pipe. Dump stumps and all in the trench. It burned white hot with little smoke. Burned down to white ashes. When done shove dirt back in. Grass seed and done.with dozer we put whole trees in the trench. Fan run 24/7 until were done. That pile would burn over over nite.

You are just a joy to watch-makes me smile when you drop a new video! I learn so much from you about equipment, soil substrate etc. I’m gonna ask a question and please forgive my ignorance: When your excavator caught on fire, why is there not a cowl of some sort just over the top of that area of the machine? I recognize it couldn’t cover the entire area as it would just contain excess heat. It just doesn’t make sense to me there wasn’t some kind of overhead of even a lightweight type of material to cover and protect that clearly vulnerable area. What improvements for this design would you recommend if the manufacturer would consider them? (I know you went to their factory.)Thanks!
