Thh I didn't even know those existed and I've had CSP for 2 years now
@bookvee3 жыл бұрын
I KNEW about them. I just never actually got around to using them. Now I realise how useful this would have been back when I was making my comic all those... Oh gods, its been decades!
@bakuhakudraws56033 жыл бұрын
Nice extra little detail: Those fill layers will also end up saving you filesize, because it's just telling the computer 'fill everything with 1 color' and then 'only display that on these pixels', which takes up a lot less space than having an individual RGBA value for each pixel like a standard raster layer would. This isn't super relevant unless you're working with ULTRA big files or on an INSANELY old potato computer, but it does have its benefits.

I watch a lot of speed-draws by the Drawfee team. Jacob is a fun guy, but I swear every time he answers one of the other's questions with "I just did a masking/fill/vector layer" and refuses to explain further I want to confront him in person and smack him with cardboard tube from a roll of paper towel. But now, I know. I know so much thanks to you, Mr. Loading. You're an amazing teacher.

I found an add on which lets you lasso around a reference layer of lineart, as opposed to a paint bucket. I used to do that too but this (remarkably) is so much faster and cleaner. Content IDs: Fill: 1759448 Erase: 1759450 It fills in any shape that is fully enclosed and also doesn't leave weird artifacts from the lineart that the paint bucket/area scaling fills leave. They also have a reverse one where you can erase a color when enclosed. Also it works with fill layers so my life has changed because I had no idea those existed, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge (and being thoroughly entertaining while doing so, you're awesome!)

Amazing tutorial again! I feel like I'll never learn out on how to use CSP! xD Gained some crucial tips and new ways on how to color that are very convenient for the way I color (which is pretty much the raster layer way)! Thanks for the tutorial! :D

I appreciate the pacing in your CSP tips videos! It is the perfect amount of informative without being overwhelming Another way to handle color layers that gives you flexibility in changing the color later: I use transparency locked color layers. In other words, after I establish my field/s of a color on a raster layer, I lock the transparency and use the layer fill bucket button for subsequent color changes. It means fewer layers in what already becomes nested clipping chaos, since (for figures/characters) I already clip my shadow layer to the folder of color layers (I do a softer shading style than you, so I really mostly need to control the shading's outermost edge)
@rightoffthepage49423 жыл бұрын
Once again, phenomenal job on this tutorial 👌. I needed this one even more than the "how to draw fast" video! Coloring literally takes me more time than both the initial sketch and lineart. Thanks for making this!
@randomshu2 жыл бұрын
Important to note for anyone who might be confused. First create a raster layer, then put it OUTSIDE the folder, and edit in the raster layer, cuz if you put the raster layer inside the folder of reference layer, the color eats too much of the border lines
@ade94792 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I've been struggling with coloring/shading for months and this explained literally everything I needed!

Grayish blue works for shading because shadows are naturally tilted toward blue because of sky light. In sun light, saturation is stripped. But in shadow, saturation is richer
