I swear, whoever was the sprite artist on Arabian Moon _loved their job_ - the shading on her is borderline pre-rendered looking. They wanted to make sure _even blind gamers_ would know how nice her abs and ass looked, lol. Besides the difficulty, that's by far the most notable thing about this game - just how great looking Arabian Moon's sprite is (and how _extra_ they went with Cattydox's idle). If it wasn't so difficult, I'm sure some other things would be more well-known - Skull Reaper's portrait being a pretty clear T-800 ripoff at 14:00 there, and this being a weird attempt by IREM to tie this into their R-Type games thanks to the Bydo entity reveal at the end there. Nice to see little weird touches like that... shame IREM didn't try to make any more fighting games afaik.

Superior Soldiers is referred to in Japan as Perfect Soldiers. The credits roll still refers to this game as Perfect Soldiers in the Western version. The ending references R-Type, which the developer Irem is mostly known for.

R-Type and Super R-Type are goats. Skull Reapers laser rings are the same laser rings you can shoot in Super R-Type as a power up . A hell of a game

I just discovered this game. The designs are definitely 90s, lol. I like storylines, so this game is not my cup of tea, at least in this regard. Arabian Moon's design is very appealing, and she has a good skill set. It's a bummer that her 1k kick move takes so long that you end up open to a counter, even on a hit. The music is not bad. Interesting game.

Probably a mistranslation due to how Japanese characters work. The S line is "sa si su se so", except they can't say "si", they say "shi" instead. The character should be latinized as "shi", not "si", but sometimes they get it wrong.
