I really enjoy how quickly Jer's games pull together a party and they pull up a backstory and team dynamic. It's really fun seeing the mashup of mechanics. Big props to the players for embracing it and running with it both times.

Umm... I don't mean to carp, but I've only been a fan for a couple of years and this was really confusing. No one introduced themselves, no one mentioned the name of the campaign, and I only recognized Jer because I've binged some older stuff. This may have just been the KZbin version, of course...

Loading crew does a good dnd Pokemon RPG. It's a bit of a different style though.

Like half the other comments, I was also expecting Pokémon, but this was actually super awesome anyway! I think this system would be great to run with some more casual friends, that might be daunted by all the rules stuff going on in D&D

Maybe I'm just not a fan of Jer's GMing style? Player characters were given essentially no information, and more importantly no reason to pursue the plot. I appreciate the effort the players put into trying to run with it anyway, but it's really hard to make a good story when you have to constantly dodge the fact that no one has any idea what they're supposed to be doing OR any reason to do it. The rational thing for the characters to do in this situation is sell of any of the random stuff they got that they don't need, figure out where they left their cart, and go back to their normal business. The only reason they didn't do that, and continued to not do that for the duration, is that it was clear to them *out of character* that there was a plot here and that they were expected to figure it out and do something with it. In a well-run game, it should very rarely be the case that players are going, "well, I don't know why I would care but it looks like the plot is that way so I guess I'll do this unwise thing - maybe I'm just the sort of person who does stuff like that!". If that does happen to you as a GM, it's the players covering for you - be grateful to them, and for goodness sake don't punish them for it.

LRR KZbin admins, could you maybe just rename the title of this video to "Trouble in Hawk City"? I'm sure this is a decent bit of roleplaying but calling it "Pewter City" sets an expectation that is really hard to shift.
