This is beyond gnarly dude, I myself am about to pick up one of those or possibly a baritone tele. I know this may sound like a dumb question, but I’m only just starting to get into using an actual interface and amp-sims and all that stuff. What software did you use for this? So plug-ins are software you buy and apply to your chosen recording platform? Any other tips/tricks regarding that stuff would be much appreciated, I feel like I’m in over my head lol.
@KEOSOUNDS Жыл бұрын
Hey man thanks ! Hey, there is no dumb question if you learn something :) The DAW I use is Studio One 5, the guitar tone is from Neural DSP Nameless (sounds great right out of the box) and I do apply other plugins for equalization, compression, etc. And also it is very important to double track the guitar parts and pan them left and right. As the channel gets close to 1k subs I plan to do a video to explain how I build my tones, basically. Stay tuned my dude and take care !

purely amazing cover!! I love how you captured every little nuance of the guitar part to the T, I commend you on your accuracy!! Also I've been thinking hard about ordering one of these subzeros, did you have to modify yours all that much?? and if so was it very hard
@KEOSOUNDS2 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy, thanks so much ! About the guitar itself, I did not modify anything. The only tweak I’ve done for tracking is putting an eq before the amp sim to get rid of a lot of the low frequencies and boost everything after the hi-mids. Without that, it sounded pretty muddy. So I definitely intend on getting new pickups some day and a lighter set of strings if I can because I found bends to be quite difficult to do. Hope it helped, let me know if you end up getting one !
@ohbxnny62992 жыл бұрын
@@KEOSOUNDS thank you for the feedback! ive heard quite a few people talk about putting eq before the amp sim that was something i was pretty much expecting but thats sweet to know you havent physically modded the guitar yet and it sounds beastly!! I'm going to order one in the next few weeks and probably get a lighter string set for it so ill definitely let you know when it comes! These seem like a great guitar for the price, not trying to spend 1200+ on a jazzmaster yet lol

Sick cover. Does Loathe use the same tuning all throughout ILIIAITE? Would love to know what tuning it is, and the string gauges you're using.
@KEOSOUNDS Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! String gauges are .24 - .84, they mostly use this tuning throughout ILIIAITE except for a few songs. Gored is this exact tuning but with the thicker string tuned down to B or C, and I think this may be the tuning for Heavy Is The Head as well. A legend on KZbin covered the all album in one video, he probably detailed the tunings in his video description if you want to know the exact tunings.
@denni5aur2822 жыл бұрын
do you think a .105 string would fit the 6th string ferrule? Was planning on buying one but since I like using .95 up to .105 for the 6th string, wasn't sure if I'd have to modify the ferrule or if a thick string fits.
@KEOSOUNDS2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, personally I still have the stock strings (.24-.84) and it plays great. I can’t imagine how it would play with a .105 string, might be too thicc for my taste hehe. I hope you will find how to do this and I would be curious to see how it goes ! Take care man
@xMoDzProductions9 ай бұрын
Have this guitar and I’m still confused on how you achieve this tuning. Did you actually tune these thicc ass strings UP from e standard?? Because to achieve that tuning you would have to I think
@KEOSOUNDS9 ай бұрын
Yes sir you're right, I did have to tune up 4 strings to achieve that. The D string up to E, the G string up to A, the B string up to D and the last e string up to F#. Given the gauge of the strings it was a bit hard to tune up but not impossible. In the future I'm thinking about getting a lighter string gauge for this bad boi, just to check if it plays more comfortable. Anyway, hope it helped

Hey dude, you're right I did not but lots of people asked me about it. Hope it helps a little, take care

Did you do a whole setup for the guitar was it the set up out of box? I just got this same guitar and cannot get this tuning right, even with the same stock string gauges. I either have to tune down and it's way too loose or tune up and it feels like the tension is insane/about to snap.
@KEOSOUNDS2 жыл бұрын
I still have it with the exact specs from when it arrived, strings included. However, I do have a crazy tension built up in the neck with that tuning (does not happen in standard baritone tuning). At some point I'll bring this baby to a guitar tech to properly set it up. Hope it helped a bit !

how is that guitar? I checked out their website and saw how low the price is but that makes me wonder about the quality
@KEOSOUNDS2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, for my use it plays great in my opinion. Guitar is not super heavy and is well balanced for my taste. Stock pickups can sound quite versatile, especially with that push/pull switch. Ormsby guitars are made in Korea but I read that the QC is done is Australia and mine arrived perfectly setup. The only thing that slightly annoys me is that the pickups sockets are slanted, so when I want to upgrade the pickups I’ll have to go for a slanted version of what I want, which I’ve found is a bit harder to find or more expensive. Specs aside, I just love how Ormsby guitars look, especially that HypeGTR hook-shaped head. Let me know if you end up getting one !
@funnyperson40272 жыл бұрын
@@KEOSOUNDS yeah I definitely don’t have the money for the ormsby but thanks for the tip on the subzero I might look into that. Also great cover
@KEOSOUNDS2 жыл бұрын
@@funnyperson4027 DAAMN dude, I did not realize you were talking about the Subzero, sorry! About the Subzero, mine came with a few quality control issues actually, and the stock pickups sound alright but need quite some processing to sound great so I’ll definitely upgrade the pickups. The 30” scale was a bit much for me, especially around the head where the frets are far from each other, so small handed players can find difficult to play chords there. I have regular sized hands so it took me a bit of practice to get used to the long scale but now it feels better. Lastly, the guitar action was pretty high, managed to lower it a bit. So all in all, I think the guitar is okay but needs a bit of time to get used to and a bit of upgrades to sound great. Hope this helped and sorry about the confusion earlier, did not have my coffee hehe
