Hey brother I’m genuinely curious as to how these songs are played on a 6 string but they are so damn heavy is it double dropped or does it have something to do with the guitar? Maybe having a baritone on it changes things? Maybe a pitch shifter? Help plzz 🥺🥺

what makes the guitar baritone while still being a 6 string? can this be done by just changing string gauge? That would sem almost too simple for that low tone.
@zawaadabdullah59973 жыл бұрын
The scale length of the guitar is 30” compared to the standard 25.5”, the longer length allows for much lower tunings while maintaining a relatively tight string tension
@riduloingo873 жыл бұрын
Baritone=a electric guitar with x amount of strings that's over like 27 inches. I THINK I hit things with sticks lmao
@merginator3 жыл бұрын
Scale. This guitar is a 30 inch. That is the measurement of the fretboard.
@NOKnova3 жыл бұрын
Number of strings doesn’t correlate to whether a guitar is a baritone or not. That comes down to scale length. I’d say 26.5” to 30” counts as baritone, anything above is bass vi.

@isaaclopez2135 Жыл бұрын
Just a baritone in general due to the extremely low tunings. Lucky there are a lot cheaper alternatives from the VM jazzmaster like the subzero baritone and the Harley Benton one! Even Gretsch had a cool cheap baritone too!
@_Mourning_ Жыл бұрын
@@isaaclopez2135 I actually ended up getting the Baritone Jazzmaster and then eventually sold it since I wasn't really using it much. Not to mention the Harley Benton version came out a while back and I like the bridge on that one a lot more so I think if I want another "jazzmaster" I will just pick that up and replace some of the hardware. I also have a Paranormal Baritone Cabronita Tele too, which should still fill the void of the Jazzmaster to some degree.

@BetaBreaking2 жыл бұрын
Pros: Dropped tunings Sustain and intonation Familiar fret/hand placement 27-30' neck length Massive tone/bottom end (depending on guitar) Cons: Scale length Pickup's Massive tone/bottom end String guages I love baritones, I own the Gretsch and use it for C#AEADF# tuning. It's a massive sounding guitar that's fantastic for metal and fuzzed out guitar tones but it definitely needs to be tamed, those pickups hear EVERYTHING. Compared to my bass and 27.5' 7 string, the 30' allows this guitar to be crystal clear without having to make massive changes to my set-up. I switched out the stock strings for Ernie Ball Bass/Guitar strings (.20-.90) but had to switch the .20 for a .16 and the .90 for .105. It worked without a hitch ever since. The flexibility it allows in lower tunings has definitely allowed my creativity and technique to flow in a way that isn't present with my dropped C# 25.5 Telecaster. All in all, baritones are a great substitute for players not wanting to detune massively, up string gauges, and keep clarity on lower tunings. If you haven't played a baritone, I'd recommend practicing on a bass or trying one out at a guitar shop. Don't move to a 7-8 string as well, it's a massive waste if you aren't using the top strings and have short fingers.

@@blackspine343 all extremely heavy bands, love em all - meshuggah have written some monstrously heavy tracks over the years: Demiurge, I, In Death Is Death - all ridiculously heavy. HLB are also fantastic, Valdë, Detestor and a couple tracks off Abyssal are destructively heavy. Lorna Shore have only done one * really * heavy track with To The Hellfire, most of their other stuff is a bit corny but very entertaining.
