Lobo was the first western comic translated into czech language in the 90s. And our version(Made by Pavel Dort I think) is even more badass, because Mr. Dort created for him MANY funny brutalistic jokes and even new czech words :D Pure fun. Oh those times, when we have Judge Dread, Lobo, Sinister and Dexter, Sin city, TMNT... It shaped my youth :D (And yes, I hate new soyboy comics)

Similar thing was in Poland, one of first american comics in my country were e.g. one shots Lobo, The Killing Joke, Batman/Judge Dredd, Batman/Predator, Spiderman:Torment, and also quite a few regular monthly series from DC and Marvel.

Lobo is the most hardcore badass in DC. Neither Heaven or Hell can contain him. His strength is on par with Superman and has beaten him before. He can actually take on Darkseid if he wanted to. Wild, untamed, and carefree, Lobo is the perfect antihero. The main man is the wrong basticth to frag with.

While lobo comics tend to be violent, it was always funnier when they skipped the violence and just focused on the awkward moments before and after the fight. They created him as a lampoon, but the sense of humor of the comics were more of a situational comedy where lobo kills a comically significant number of people every episode.

He is straight up evil that kills innocents left and right, bullies week people, tortures them, eats them (he is a man-eating, cannibalistic maniac). Deadpool is not evil and has a deep side, a conflict within, he has that line he never crosses. Lobo doesnt have that deep side because he is a walking joke that was created to bash and laugh at anti-heroes with deep dark origins. The only similarity is that they are both mercenaries. And Lobo was created earlier btw.
