Curt Brown is both a commercial lobsterman and an scientist at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. He has filmed and narrated some wonderful underwater footage of a lobster entering and escaping a trap off the coast of Maine.

Nice video!!!! Cool to see what you normally dont get a chance to due to the water barrier! We are doing something similar but with black sea bass and black sea bass pots!

the thing is, I dont think its intentional, but its the way they get spooked and swim off, kinda catapults them back to an exit.

Looks to me like the spooked lobster jumped and accidently/luckily landed on the exit. Didn't look like it intentionally went for the exit. You made a big deal out of a coincidence. It is a cool video though!

Don't get me wrong, that was pretty cool...but I'd bet my bottom dollar that the same lobster embellished that story at least a little bit as she told her friends later on. No question. You know how those lobsters are with glory stories...
