That's a frozen lobster. Probably died of a heart attack the other day. Approxate price 9,000 Yen for lobster sashimi and lobster head soup. Apparently Japanese people prefer the frozen lobster sashimi version. Filmed in Naha, Okinawa, Japan.

Unbelievable video! Geez that looks good. I love fresh seafood, I always say that best food is seafood. But where I live lobster is very very expensive so I have never had it before. We have other great stuff though like mudcrab,prawn,oyster,scallop etc.

im from Malaysia and we have a Caridea/lobster called udang galah in our native language which doesnt tasted much difference from your type of lobster in Australia. it costs around myr 60.00 which is probably around 20 in AUD. Last time, my uncle, my dad and I caught ten of them in nearby rivers. I thought in Australia supposes to have lots of lobster or any kind of lobster speciease

Kuro Senpai I think in Australia they are caught mainly on the West Coast and they are called crayfish, they have no claws I think. Not many people live on the West Coast because it is basically desert. Most people in Australia live on the East Coast.

@@tomtonka1915 Here in Turkey its like 65 Aud for a whole alive lobster. But it is expensive for a normal Turkish family when you calculate it to Turkish Lira. İn here we can only find lobsters very hardly and expensive and in Mediteranian coasts they hunt some blue crab which doesnt even come to İstanbul... All i want is king crab legs

People who whine about the lobsters being killed are probably sitting behind their computers eating burgers at the same time. Animals eat animals. Humans are animals. Hate to break it to you. But hey, if you want to keep whining, you might as well turn full vegan! Hmmm...yeah, no. You're not going to do that, are you? Bunch of hypocrites.

Yes some can be sweet, some salty, some chewy/rubbery, etc. depends on the type of sashimi.
@Arielelian
@Arielelian 7 жыл бұрын
I've never had lobster sashimi, but a lot of high end restaurants tend to cook lobster rare. Of all the times I've had it (cooked rare), it was chewy and really didn't have much of a flavor apart from what it was seasoned with. Most oceanic shell fish sashimi tastes like salt water with a touch of mucus (lol), unless someone doesn't prepare it right and you get a few grains of shell with it. Ugh...that tastes nasty. Fish sashimi will vary a lot more. Some have a very "clean" taste, while others are more "fishy". To me, eel tasted way too mediciny and it was just horrible, but those are just my taste buds.

I had this very same spiny lobster at this very market in Naha. It was quite bland and needed soy sauce. Other types of lobster will be sweeter, particularly maine lobster. The soup they make out of the head was very good though.

This is NOT a lobster but a lagoustine. Reading the comments of waste of water, my toughts go a bit further. The lagoustine is washed so clean, the hardcore flavour that is normally the base for the stock is washed away to. I think they eat the raw lagoustine pieces with simple and cheap soja sauce. In my opinion waste of the Lagoustine, it would be 2.0 if they served it raw with filtered sauce of the self and intenticals they now wash away. ☹️
