Very interesting.. it seems very gelatinous in texture. Very little meat/muscle, more like a membrane protecting its organs.. creature of the ocean, so interesting..

That's because it's a deep water fish... they raped the bottom of the sea dragging nets destroying everything in its path to catch that animal

@@Derail07 , my same thought too.
@Grey-The-Skeleton
@Grey-The-Skeleton 3 жыл бұрын
@@Derail07 You do realise we don't eat deep-sea fish, right? That's a lumpsucker, they are bad swimmers and have next to no muscles because they use a suction-cup-like bodypart to attach to things, mostly fish. Please, do some research before spewing as much idiocy as this lumpsucker spewed-out caviar.
@icedragonair
@icedragonair 2 жыл бұрын
Yep, deff deep sea. The pressure down there is so great, a gelatinous body is a lot easier to maintain. Also muscle is expensive. Food is scarce, and deep sea animals basically prefer not to move unless they have to. Many prefer more passive locomotion, rather than using lots of energy to power muscles to propel themselves, they just kinda drift. Worth mentioning that coming up from deep sea to regular atmospheric pressure usually does a lot of damage to tissue, causing the animal to become highly misshapen.

Sushi ingredients that I recognize, in order: mirin, kombu, soya, bonito, tamago, fish liver, salt, nori, sticky rice, Japanese cucumber, masago/tobiko, wasabi, pickled ginger....not sure about the unlabeled powder (white pepper, aspic, msg?) and liquid in the bottle that he puts on the liver. The hot pot looks like daikon, carrot, salt, dashi, oyster mushroom, leak, scallions.

So I watch a lot of Japanese eaters and recently I noticed they sometimes put this flaky white powder into their ramen, do u know what that is? I kinda thought salt but it seems really light and flaky like snow

I'm not sure about cooked.. that would depend on sauces, spices, etc used... but raw... if you have ever tried sea urchin, that yellow grainy tongue looking thing at most sushi places, I'd imagine same taste but lots of different textures. So pretty much like how the ocean smells.
