Thank you for the video. I have been watching you since you started your loc journey and I’m 5 years into my Sisterlock journey. I had surgery a year ago and my locs are struggling a little, this video was what I needed. Thanks ❤ Happy New Year! 🎊

Thank you for the simplicity of this video. Having no music in the background is a treat. It is so relaxing to the brain. It is easier to retain the information when your brain is fighting with talking and music.

I make my own shampoo, conditioner, rose water, and loc elixir. It’s definitely trial and error. Last shampoo I made was African black soap with frankincense essential oil and my own rose water. I use spring water to make my products btw. Last conditioner I made has coconut oil and aloe Vera juice. The recent elixir I created has jojoba oil, olive oil, tea tree oil, and rose water. I try to oil my scalp everyday now. I’m currently doing research on what to do about my scalp psoriasis. It’s not extremely bad but it bothers me. I started my own locs and I have been locked for 6 years now. It’s definitely a journey but I wish I did it sooner. Your locs are beautiful. I love the curly loc look as well. I definitely keep my bonnet on for the most part unless I’m leaving out or I’m conducting business. I wear head wraps as well. Love these tips❤❤

Thank you so much for these tips! This is so helpful. I will definitely buy some rose water and add that to my regimen. Girlllllll...that last rotation used to kill me😳🥴😫 and I shared that with my previous loctician and she listened but I retighten my own hair now. It's very liberating. Thank you for always sharing great tips ans beautiful styles 🥰🥰😍😍🙏🏽🙏🏽🤗🤗

This swollen locs are so annoying for me. When I got sisterlocs installed the Loctitian did not lock my hair all the way to the ends, so I had tons of bunching. I started see a new Loctitian and she listened and corrected the ones that were too big.

Great tips! Im 4yrs into my microlocs journey and I've learned (1) less is definitely more and (2) listening to my locs to determine what is needed is key. Funny thing, everyone has been talking about how long my locs are getting but I only realized the length at my last retie appointment when I saw my loctician do a top knot to do the pipe cleaner curls 😂

Thank you for the tips! I enjoy your content! Always so helpful! I use aloe vera water for moisture. I add MSM. I’m not sure if you have ever used MSM, but I just use it in my water. I’m almost 7 years in and I love it!

I’m slowly weaning off oiling my scalp. When I did oil my locs, the lint was relentless. I say avoid applying oil to the actual loc. When oiling the scalp, just put a small amount of oil on the ends of your fingertips then apply to scalp.

According to my dermatologist some scalps should t have oil on them at all. It makes scalp issues worse. And I’m one of those people and it makes me sad because I like putting oil on my scalp 🥹🥹🥹

Thank you for the tips! I'm going to get the jojoba you posted. I believe my hair likes it, but I need it pure. I'm 4yrs in and I use rosewater everyday because I'm in Michigan! That was the best thing I came across when researching sisterlocks before I got mine. Like you suggested, I now pour it in my continuous spray bottle that I wasn't using. It's a game changer!

Do you have a video talking about how you keep lint out of your Sisterlocks?
@DrkNlvely14 күн бұрын
Unfortunately no but it’s very simple. You just have to keep your hair wrapped as much as possible when you’re lounging around the house wrapping her up stay away from light fabrics

Not you telling on us in the first five minutes… shampoo day frequency goal and when it actually happens are two different things. I think we can get away with it because we don’t use a lot of products or heavy products. And we don’t need product to retighten. I never heard of that brand of rose water but now I want to check it out. Great tips! Love the transparency!

I like that “unknown stage”. If we could bottle up earlier stages. Sometimes I just want to go back to different lengths then come back to my current length but that’s not possible.
@ibyl2 ай бұрын
One tip I swear by: check those locs for lint and cover the locs when lounging. Locs pick up everything so being proactive is key.

How do you get lint out of your locs?
@DrkNlvely2 ай бұрын
@@lolitabailey9432 you don’t unfortunately unless you re establish them again or trim them little by little to get rid of the parts that have lint. You can pic it out with tweezers however do so can cause structural damage to you’re locs
@karenkeith-ford75992 ай бұрын
Do you ever use a regular soft bristle brush on your locs to remove lint before washing? I’ve seen it done but was interested in your thoughts on that practice.

The lint tries to keep my locs from being great and I wear my bonnet most of the time I'm home.
