I loved this because I just started my locs September 1st I've been wanting to start the journey forever, I got passion twists over the starter locs for now because I just wasn't feeling how I looked with the starter locs since my hair is fine, but you have me excited to stick to it for the first time and trust the process. Love your locs thanks for sharing the journey! I feel many of us with same texture hair get told the same thing!

I always wondered if people meant the literal hair strands couldn’t handle it. Like how a lot of white people’s hair can’t handle box braids/cornrows. I want to get locs so badly tho.

I always wondered this, I also have 3b/3c curls and I'm thinking of starting locs but I want to leave my curly ends
@simply_dee66537 ай бұрын
@@xok7077it’s definitely possible! That is how I wore mine, roots to ends loc’d with 4 inches of curls combed out at the ends on every loc. it was absolutely beautiful and I felt like me. I went through a very hard break up and needed to cleanse my roots of that energy so I combed them out.. 5 going on 6 years of having them. Broke my heart to do it but it was necessary. Now im ready to start again :3 just need to figure out how I want to part it

I have the same hair type as you and I finally decided to loc my hair in November 22’. I was inspired by my partner and I couldn’t be happier. However some days are better than others haha. I love your locs btw ✨

FYI: I wash surprised to learn lots of ppl wash their starter locs, I’m one that ust couldn’t take it after two weeks... I tried, but my hair loves water🤷🏾♀️but you have to gently message the scalp... for 3A/B curly types (me) I find air drying until it’s about 80% dry, then re-twisting is much easier than re twisting while wet, especially if you’re using gel, because the hair wants to unravel.

This hair pattern is just like mine in regards to the lumpy bumpy wavy/curly however your hair is softer in texture. I’m on my 4th journey of trying before taking them out. This time I haven’t taken them out and won’t because I love low maintenance and I’m determined to stay for the end result this time. I hated lumpy bumpys as I call them and thats why I took them out the other times! I realize due to my hair texture it’s impossible to stop the lumpy bumpys so I am relinquishing control over trying to stop them from doing what they will do, lol..seeing your hair videos gives me hope that they will become more uniform and less lumpy bumpy at some point for the most part. Some people like this look because it reminds them of goddess locs but I like them to be without the bumpys, lol. Maybe I have some form of OCD so this is forcing me to let go and be patient.
@floraolivia115 ай бұрын
@@AfrocenteredLife yes I couldn’t agree more with you! Definitely let go and know your locs are unique to you. I was 3 years 😂in thinking my hair was still locking due to the lumps in my hair but then realized that’s just my hair texture

They made me feel like , locing my hair is the worst hair decision for me but i am convinced that i really want it so am committed. I will probably do wigs to chuch for sometime until the hairbis properly locked cuz am not ready for the negative talk about my hair

Don’t listen to ppl; most have no clue when it comes to locs... they’re accustomed to seeing people with dense, tightly coiled hair with locs so they assume that’s the only hair texture that can rock them... we would see more people that 3B/C (black, and other people of color) with locs if they didn’t let people talk them out of getting them... do your thing, it’s only hair✌🏾

What is the best loc method for 3a-b hair?! I want to loc my hair but leave the curls on the end but I read micro locs aren’t the best for this hair type! I also want a more gird like style, Does anyone know!?
@floraolivia11 Жыл бұрын
Hey hey, my sister loc'd her hair and left her curls on the ends. I would do the coil method and style it in barrel twist for starters. Your curls at the end wont really matter until your hair begins to start budding then I would make sure you aren't twisting your ends during retwist.
