Your locs are beautiful. I am 6 months on my loc journey and loving it. I was retwisting every 4 to 5 weeks, and will try to go longer without retwisting to allow my roots to thicken up.

Thank you Michelle ☺️! Yes, I’ve found that stretching out my retwists during the beginning phase of my journey did wonders for my locs. Kudos to you 🫶🏾

Awesome video once again!😀I am 2.5 years into my loc journey. I sat underneath the dryer for the first 2 years and then I stopped because I heard people say that less heat is best so I started allowing for my hair to air dry, but after drying it with my microfiber towel, which I absolutely love!🙌🏾Currently, I retwist my own hair every 2-3 weeks depending on what I have going on, it works for my hair, but no more than once a month is what I recommend to people. Everyone's hair is different so do what works for you. Applying oil and rosewater once a week allows for my locs to stay moisturized. I noticed that when I wet my hair and applied oil to it daily my hair would feel more dry so less is best is what I've come to learn. Also, I have color only on the ends of my hair because it grew out so not dying my hair again after the first time 2 years ago has definitely contributed to the overall health of my locs.😊

Thank you so much! I love what you said, “Everyone’s hair is different so do what works for you”. That is so true 💯. I’m happy to hear that you’ve found your groove and is sticking to it ☺️💖.

A microfiber towel will dry your hair fast. Thats what I use to avoid the mold issue.

I dry with my dryer hair attachment. Never got mold, but did get flat locs from going to bed with damp hair… so that was the main reason I dry after washing . I’m only 14 months in though

I air dry my locs all the time. I wash during the day and let it dry throughout the day and never had an issue (with first loc set)...I use a hooded dryer during winter because it's not warm enough to air dry. I think the the mildew happens when people wash their hair and the go to sleep while it's still wet or damp. I'll continue to do the same thing with my second loc set because like i said, I ever had an issue with air drying. Just depends on the season and knowing when to use the dryer.

I'm 3 years into my journey ( 3rd and last set of locs). I wrap my micro fiber towel on my hair for an hour then I blow dry on medium heat with a hand-held dryer to ensure the length of my locs are dry. I've also been afraid of mold since I've seen it happen to others. I've had no damage to my locs using a blow dyer. I interlock my current set of but with the previous set, I sat under a hooded dryer.

Thank you for sharing! I may have to try your method with using a micro fiber towel on my hair and a hand-held dryer. That sounds doable ☺️

I air dry my hair I’ve always washed my hair early enough so my hair have enough time to dry since I squeeze as much water out of my hair then wrap a hair towel over the locs for at least 10 -15 minutes then the rest of the time the towel is off never had mold issues 5 yrs loc’d in my routine is I use rose water/ vitamin E and leave in conditioner growth oil not all at the same time water based gel for re- twist and do so every 3 - 5 months

Your routine sounds a little similar to mine. Air drying has been working just fine throughout my loc journey thus far. However, I have noticed that the time has increased for my hair to dry as of lately. Thanks for sharing your loc routine with me ☺️🫶🏾.
