I feel like this is the path towards the end of the loc season. That’s cool too! 👀

If I’m being honest, I strongly considered it several times. But I’ve decided to keep my journey going!

Been following you for a year now, and your locs are looking lovely! I’ve just shaved the sides of my hair for a “loc Mohawk” so I def relate to some of the things you mentioned about the illusion of fullness when it’s down.

Thank you so much!! It’s a nice happy middle ground to have locs but also have an edgier style!
@mjjjermaine4 ай бұрын
@@DavidJaysWay Exactly that! I work in an office setting so I keep my hair down during the day, and up in more casual settings. I love the versatility of locs!

my style is anything infront of the ear is not allowed to grow beyond eye brow length, then the back is free to grow as along as it wants. i feel like as a man when I have long hair it shouldn't hang in front of my shoulders but can hang backwards no problem

I have enjoyed having my shorter locs lately! It’s a different feel all together.

I decided to start my locs with interlocking, until I saw your video on how you started your locks with braids. Does the same benefits apply with the interlocking method? Btw, I enjoy your content.
@DavidJaysWay3 ай бұрын
I appreciate you watching!! I would say that the same benefits definitely apply with interlocking. It’s just a more difficult method to start with if you’re doing your locs yourself but once they are installed, the benefits are the same!

Cousin, bonnets are snatching my edges but also helping me retain moisture. Any advice from the guru?
@DavidJaysWay4 ай бұрын
Do you have the ones with the thick border? I’ve never had thinning issues with my edges, but I also have much thicker hair than necessary
@PlainOlCourtney4 ай бұрын
@DavidJaysWay Yes. It's the thick border. The skinny ones literally tore my perimeter out. Vaporub is the solution to my edges coming back, but the bonnet is unaliving them shortly thereafter. Any other way to retain moisture?
@mjjjermaine4 ай бұрын
I’ve noticed elastic bonnets are worse for edges than the braid bonnets that you can tie on. I also pull mine down a little further than my hairline so there’s no friction on my scalp at night

Can you post pics or a video of the day you got the intitial braids. I wanted to compare hair and went all the way back and noticed you were low cut and then boom.... had a 4 month journey lol. I been here since 1 year anniversary i think.

Thank you for hanging in there through all this time!! I used to put pics of the beginning of my journey in my first year videos often but if you joined around the one year anniversary it makes sense why you haven’t seen them. Here’s one where if you go to the 1:15 minute mark you’ll see some starter pics kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4CWf4SpgdKIjbMsi=mUo_SJRqWLeTx49m

I love the length of your locs. What are your thoughts on adding hair (afro hair) to starter micro locs (braided) for some added length. I'm thinking about doing that.
@DavidJaysWay3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. I would be careful adding length long term to make sure that the weight of the extension isn’t too heavy. With traditional locs you have much more of a base to work with but with microlocs you don’t want to add too much consistent tension. So if you’re going to do it, make sure you or whoever is installing it makes the extensions proportional and light as possible

Why do you cut your locs I want mine locs to grow I will be locs 2 years in December
@DavidJaysWay4 ай бұрын
I was getting bored with my locs and wanted to change them up to prevent me from completely shaving them off so I decided to cut them shorter
@cynthiaholland134 ай бұрын
Did you not like the color? I see you cut that off
@DavidJaysWay4 ай бұрын
I loved the color. I actually dyed my locs back black over a year ago I think so I was just cutting my locs shorter. Not to get rid of color
