It's truly a nice feeling to wash and not re-twist, I do it because I like to have a fuller look. However, I do like to keep them neat and have them looking sweet. 😍 Thanks for letting us hang with, while you washed and pampered your locs a bit. 😊 Bye *Nina!*

I enjoyed the no retwist phase of my loc journey. Loved the volume however it resulted in thinning since my hair doesn’t grow into the loc and my part system got messed up. So word of caution for those reading.

Try the braid method with locsmithing for hair that grows around your locs. Mine does too, in the front, so I use the braid technic (search Yanni the loctologist) and it helps my semi freeform my fine 4c hair, Ps I'm only in month 4 but my hair is locd and loaded! 😜

Looking amazing! I do the same thing, only retwisting every other wash, doing twists or braids to "camouflage" puffy roots. And when it's humid and you work out, it is beyond frustrating to have a fresh retwist last only a day or two. You look great.

I am 2 months in and I put conditioner in my hair. I dilute it and I don't keep it in for long. I tried to do a clarifying shampoo followed by a moisturizing shampoo to avoid conditioner but my hair was not having it. It was super dry. After conditioning my hair I heard exactly what I needed from her to keep it in my routine. But I am sooo looking forward to that type of connection with my hair. I have been wearing weaves and braids my whole life. Went natural for a few years and end up going back to braids. Now I am on my loc journey and a self-care journey and I am so excited to be on the path of accepting my full self and my natural beauty. I am so geeked to see how my hair will look on my 1 year locaversary (Look at me getting ahead of myself lol). I love your loc updates.

Girl when i tell you my hair is so dirty right now. I do 5 miles a day and it is day 4. And i have 1 more day before i can wash. When my sweat dries my scalp itches so bad. I love washing my hair with no retwist. I only retwist once every 3 months so i have to wash. I scratch mine too but I don’t scratch hard. Great video Nina! Can you give us a live or something? I have been unintentionally doing this as well partially due to laziness, but I don't like for my hair to be twisted up all the time. When I don't retwist, I do styles that have tighter curls and are closer to the roots (braid outs using ONLY 3 strands of hair and putting them in pipe cleaners). The trick to making your roots look nicer is using less hair.
