I come from a marine corps family,parents both served in WW 2,older brother ,husband and many peers in the Vietnam conflict,my brother served two two tours of duty in Nam, he would come home a broken man,his PTSD was so awful myself ,my parents and my siblings ,he died from lung cancer complicated by Agent Orange as did. my husband ,I’m using this opportunity to thx thank EVERY SINGLE PERSON who has served our country honorably ,God bless them and GOD BLESS AMERICA .

Well this may upset some. But anyone coming back from a war zone, with post traumatic stress, and then taken to a gun range and given a gun, would not be the first choice of therapy. A walk in the open wilds, bird watching, anything would surly be better than guns going off, and maybe bringing back a combat experience. And the rest is history.

33 and PTSD. Humans live maybe 10 decades, fighting-age people are 1/5-1/2 way finished. They made choices that got them where they were. If you worked in a cemetery for 3 seasons or so, you’d bury about 33 regardless of their choices. Just the way the cookie crumbles. So you don’t have to feel so fn bad. Doubt if this will reach the shooter, but if it does, hey man - talk to the local cemetery groundskeeper. It happens. No insensitivity intended and I’d change it if I could too, but the law has already been established.

I joined the army in 1986 and served 8 years in the signal corps and i tell people all the time we were all soldiers but in my eyes the real soldiers were the rangers, special forces and the delta guys. i got a chance to train side by side with the rangers in a course call pldc which is required to get your e-5 rank back then and those guys are the real deal. I have much respect for these guys because they have seen a lot of death that no one should have to carry around in their head. I am definitely going read his book and i think his story would be a really good movie.
