Ministries founded by same guy. There was a falling out so founder created Church Bible Publishers. He owned the bindery so LCBP get Bibles made elsewhere now. Church Bible Publishers sell worldwide but LCBP refuse to sell outside US sadly.

when it comes to the difference is the majority I would say has to be in the paper church Bible Publishers papers just a higher quality along with their Leathers as well. Also I would like to know that church Bible Publishers is a Ministry whereas local church Bible Publishers it's just a Bible bookstore.

I just received a brown, ironed calfskin, note takers edition bible from CBP and it is awesome! The calfskin leather cover on my Bible is the softest and most flexible bible cover I’ve ever even seen on a bible! Super soft and flexible! Beautiful, beautiful bible. I am so pleased. Cost me $65. 🤑. I would love to check out a Local Church Bible for sure, but on their website they state boldly that SOMEONE MUST BE HOME TO RECEIVE THE PACKAGE OR IT WILL BE RETURNED!!! Ouch! I can’t have someone home all the time to receive a package the size of a Bible!?? My CBP Bible was on my front porch when I got home from work. So why can’t Local Church do the same? That is literally the only thing that prohibits me from purchasing one of their bibles. Too bad🤷🏻‍♂️

I noticed you said that your copy of the Local Church Bible was at least 2 years old. I have a 2 year old bible from them and a less than 2 year old bible from them. I have to say that there is a big difference in quality. My wife has a 1 year old Church Bible Publishers bible and it rivals that of the 2 year old and older local church bibles. I have been disappointed with my current Local Church Bible copy.

Do you know what ever happened to "the Lewis bible "company ..use to publish and bind bibles 10 years or so ago .. made some beautiful bibles ..then in one day gone ...????

I really think that local church may use faux leather on all of there bibles , it all seems the same and natural leather would not be like that , idk about cbp . May be why cbp leather feels thicker , because it's real leather
