I really enjoyed the drive thru Pennington Gap and the stop by the patio. I think my last burger there was somewhere around 1967. I graduated from Jonesville High in '62 and haven't lived there since. I do still visit there from time to time but found my retirement home in Central Texas. I pass thru that area on some of my annual visits to our "other" home on OBX. I just found your site and have watched several of your video's. Thanks for sharing your explorations with us all. Oh yes, In answer to another video.... We're 55 years together and counting...

Easy to remember the patio was going to toward big stone gap past the old Pennington High School. The patio was there in 1968 if I’m remembering right.

It was so fun to see you eating at the Patio Drive in. We ate there several years ago on a trip to Cumberland Gap and southwest Virginia. We enjoyed a great meal there, too. Enjoy watching your adventures. Peggy G. from Louisiana

I met my husband when I worked as a car hop. Drive in restaurants are very nostalgic. Looked great. Hey guys! I was watching Winston OF COURSE and noticing (I THINK) that he doesn't have a "shoulder harness". He isn't clipped in when you are driving and have him on your lap. May I recommend that you get him one? We had an accident one time and our young doggie got his neck broken and of course died but would have been fine if he had been clipped in on his harness. Just a thought. Love y'all. God bless you.

I haven’t eat at the patio in years. I live in Wise and was riding my motorcycle about 2 weeks ago on my way to Harlan, Ky. And was hoping to get me one of those wonderful burgers but The Patio was closed. It was on a Sunday. If the weather is nice this week I may take a ride to the patio. I was surprised how nice the road was improved between Big Stone Gap Dryden. God bless.

Oh look downtown small place and look good hamburger 🍔 Memorial Day 🇺🇸❤️ and safe trip.
I'm not a big fan of chicken livers. But, if you leave them out in the sun for a few days they make great catfish bait.

Chicken livers??? Ummm...no thanks. I used to eat them as a kid with them wrapped in bacon. I didn't really understand what they were then. Have y'all ever been skiing in WV? I've heard the resorts are great for beginners. Thanks for another enjoyable video. God bless!😊Just realized you were in Virginia, not WEST Virginia. Oops!😅
