Local Forecast- October 26, 2010 Tornado Warning (1)

A small thunderstorm west of Lansing prompts a Tornado Warning for Eaton County to the west. The warning was dropped by the time the storm crossed into this county. Nonetheless, Tornado Warnings were in effect along this long line of thunderstorms... which at that time stretched along the cold front from central Michigan all the way down to Alabama. This local forecast began silent, with Trammell coming in a few seconds in. Also includes an appearance of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) bulletin.

I remember that day! I was at school having lunch when the principal told us to stand up and go to the basement. Someone came over he P.A. and said there was a Tornado Warning. We went to the basement and waited there for a good 40 mins. The good part was we had a science test that day and it got cancelled.

Only once in my neck of the woods [NY] have I had the chance to witness the EAS being activated, interrupting The Weather Channel broadcasting - two or so years ago. Interesting, seems kinda pointless though for TWC when EAS activations concerning weather are concerned - since you're already getting weather information from TWC.
