God I love the down to earth communication the Cult of the Tree has when not performing gruesome ritual sacrifices. "We need to be better at communicating, because now we have Feds on our asses" at their base and "Don't take what isnt yours" in their boxes. So funny

Fun Finnish mythology tidbit: Ilmarinen and Joukahainen are both key figures in Kalevala, the Finnish epic. Ilmarinen is a legendary smith who forges a machine that can produce infinite amounts of gold, grain, and salt. Joukahainen is essentially a shaman/sage that crosses paths with Väinämöinen, they have a singing competition and Väinämöinen sings him into a swamp. Both figures are considered "sons of Kalevala" along with others such as the aforementioned Väinämöinen, which loosely gets interpreted as godlike figures of the epic most times. This was, of course, purely coincidental info.

Just want to chime in to say yes, you did read quite a sum of texts regarding the "Anderson brothers". Both in Alan Wake and Control. They are preferebly called such to avoid adding belief into their actual names. A FBC classifed document found in the Investigation Sector even mentions Freya, which I assume is Tor's daughter and Saga's mother. I've recently rewatched your AWE episodes and there's quite a LOT of foreshadowing to the events of Alan Wake 2's early game. Some documents even mention the ever present FBC agents stationed at Caudron Lake by name. In the Epilogue Alan mentions "needing a hero" to help him escape and you assumed he may have created Jesse and the FBC. Jesse's story is as much intertwined with the Oldest House as Saga's with this new Alan Wake book.

Yeah it's been disappointing for me that the radio shows ĥave not been as engaging as in AW1. I collect them in AW2 yes, but for the most time I don't listen to it completely since it's not interesting.

And at 1:41:21 the horseshoe to the right of the door may be a reference to the Altered Item from the FBC's Luck and Probability Department. The current orientation brings bad luck, which makes sense since it's location is part of the Overlap, the bridge to the Dark Place.
