Unless there is something in the Rules & Regulations about not allowing a person to write a contentious posting AND the Statute from the State agrees with the HOA - then an HOA can not write you a letter of violation AND if there is no committee that can fine the owners - then HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN??????

Very informative. I was on the board of our 24 house HOA. $15 a month in 2001, $30 a month in 2019. We owned the street, community park and drainage pond. It was necessary to have the HOA for these things, only things people didn't like was slight control on paint colors and only 24hrs for RVs, Campers, Etc. In the street.

Great episode Rick. We do not allow our private FB community to talk about the HOA board or management company at all. It is very good and positive as FB isn't the place for that. The board meetings are so important esp to ask about the legal fees. These dues are going up up up. YOU ROCK and thank you for this knowledge.

HOAs, one day they’re your friend making sure people aren’t parking their third car in the guest parking, the next they’re the gestopo telling you what you can set on your window sill lol 😂 Yeah, the patrol is worthless. You call them saying there are teenagers vandalizing the pool area and they tell you to call the police. My wife actually got a ticket for $100 for rolling through a poorly placed stop sign. You can’t even contest it…. But that was two security companies ago 😑

It's too bad most newer communities are all HOA, but would never buy into one ever again. I can think of better ways to torture myself than deal with some wannabe "Community Leaders" on a power trip.

It is incredibly difficult when buyers ask me to find a nice home without an hoa.

@@Rickhelps "Nice" homes are ones without an HOA. You can fix up houses, you can't get rid of the HOA's or the fees. ;)

I always have hated HOA’s. I have a home in power ranch. It my opinion they are pretty lax. I had a renter in my property and they never maintained the front yard, it looked dirty. The house looked like it should be in the west valley. I was so surprised I never got any notices or fines.

hahah thanks for this video...much enjoyed!! the power ranch one sounds like a match made in heaven...making it harder to build housing, whether owned or rental, should be punished with these ridiculous legal fees and fall onto all the members of the HOA for the stupidity pursued by the board members. as for the second one...again, too much free time on people's hands and here we are worried about a recession. if you're gonna start policing & fining dialogue, im sure it's not gonna sit well with the majority. but i also agree...being behind a keyboard has made it much easier to spew garbage without consequences

HOA's could be good if they didn't force NEW changes on current owners. When someone buys into an HOA and agrees to ALL of the rules/By-Laws then it's on the homeowner to obey the rules that they agreed to but when a new board decides that they want to make changes just because 1 individual on the board doesn't like something for example, then the current homeowners should be able to opt out of any new rules that they didn't agree to when they purchased their home/condo. Therefore, any new rules should only apply to NEW homeowners going forward. Now if the board takes a vote and ALL homeowners agree to the new rules (That's 100% agree), then and then only should the current homeowners be required to follow the new rule(s). Now, with that person having issues of someone blocking their driveway, that's an easy solution. Just call the police as it's illegal to park in front of someone's driveway blocking them in. This applies in all 50 states. I would think that they (police) could have a tow company tow those vehicles also.

Over the top? I know. Going to court next month.another isser, foods were done in 2018, 2 years ago the said have to do again. All of a sudden how not paying for it. We have to pay our own. Won't show the documentation.

Isn't the guy who started the HOA the same guy who manages for the HOA? Also, who's the signatories to the articles of the CC&R's? I don't think any of these guys know they can't win if they are not privy.

Meaning, when you are not a party to an alleged contract, the courts will play along but in the end, unless they go through a jury, will dismiss it.
