I was 30 years old before I ever seen a sprint car in person. Now 37 with 2 years crew experience and 5 years of driving!!!

Good story for you. My son Matt at 18 went to a Casino with his boss. Played Black Jack and won 12,000 😂 went got a sprint car. He ran Bridgeport Speedway in a 305 and won 2 features. The best thing,he has the track record for the 20 lapped that will stick because they changed the configuration of the track. Went 410 and ran out of money. But at least he got to follow a dream of his. Proud of him

I won $5k in LV and stopped on the way home and spent it all on tires and wheels lol

I bought a frame, then a front axle, steering box, linkage, rear axle. It sat on 6x6's for a year while I bartered, bargained, and bought. Wheels and tires. BUILT a motor with some great people out of their spare parts. A seat from a micro sprint I had and I added safety items to. I bought the BEST racing uniform (Hinchman). At age 60 FINALLY achieved my racing dream. A midget (D2) and racing at Bloomington Speedway. I had raced in Japan, Germany and Idaho. But there is nothing like racing where you once watched your idols run. Graylocks Racing EnterPrizes. Living he best life possible.

Man, these vids are what I need. I’m trying to get into sprint cars. Have raced micros since 2013, and just never had the money. Now trying to figure out what I need is very difficult, what size frame do I need? Ride heights? All these questions I can’t seem to figure out on my own I just keep pushing. Tire pressures how much fuel to you put into the fuel cell. Maybe I should find someone to pit for too? Learn the cars a little before building one?

Did you start with a wing or non wing car Tmez? 305/360/410?
@tmezTv2 ай бұрын
My first car was a 410 but I had raced my dad’s midget
@k_hoffman2 ай бұрын
@@tmezTv Right on, was just curious. I am running a winged 305 this year to start out and try to learn how to be a wheelman. No previous experience so should be interesting. How much does it throw you off going from a winged car to non wing? Ok to learn with the wing and eventually make the jump to non wing?

Well first I need to drop 60 years. O to be young again. Went with my wife would go to local dirt track. She would say “I am not going to live like that!”. Olg pickup flat towing a beat up stocker, 8 kids in bed and a wife at 450 lbs. everyone bare foot. Well 35 years latter I built. A 230 inch rail with 454 big block, all from scrach. Ending up a class champion an track champion .. now family all involved in bracket racing, me, son, his wife, his son his daughter, his son building rails and sold all over the country, pipe bent welded sheet metal fitted and very, very expensive paint.. o yes, 2017 won a $1,000,000.00 big money bracket bash , followed up with a couple of runner ups. And his daughter at 12 in winning Jr dragster races. Me now? Setting on front porch and watching weeds grow….Hay, it’s not all bad. Nearest dirt track 60 miles south at Amarillo, Texas. And watching Tmez on utube. Might want to check him out. Johnny Ezell. JBR. Ezell :
