“California’s on fire right now and I’m not talking about the land”. 🤣🤣🤣

I couldn’t be more excited about discovering a show. Rush, I grew up in Anna Maria island Florida, southern Tampa bay. I started commercial fishing in ’83 at the age of 12. I then got my 100tn and started running offshore charters. Over 7,000 days in the Gulf of Mexico. I share every passion that you have. I’m at an age where I can do some traveling to foreign places to chat h those fish I’ve only dreamed about. Seeing you do these things has only ignited the fire in me to make it happen. I’m overcoming being paralyzed 2 years ago. I’m able to use a walker short distances now and getting stronger every day. Ahli, watching you and your expertise out there in California has finally given me a reason to visit the strangest place in America. The way you plan and organize your fishing is incredible and takes a level of observation and dedication to detail that even most charter jockeys don’t posses. From the boat set up to monitoring the conditions and current bite. Together you two make watching the show interesting for even someone like myself. I can’t watch most saltwater Sportfishing shows- there’s waaaay too much fluff n butter. You guys show what it’s like, good weather and bad. Not every cast produces a trophy, not all spots produce fish and not every day is a success. You show that being able to switch gears on the fly can fill the box. I honestly wait for several episodes to come out then I prop myself up and binge watch for a few hours. The best few hours I get. I’ve spent more time on the Gulf of Mexico than on land. I mentioned my situation and thought I’d never see another day offshore but God must feel that I’m not finished yet. I’m definitely going to hunt Rush down shortly after getting back to Florida. I hope you two continue to have safe and successful days. Please continue to show the viewers how it’s done. My favorite two lines for my customers are; “Yeah, y’all are paying me to do this.” “I’m the only guy you know that turns fishing into work.” Be safe gents.

Ali - perhaps consider doing a short segment on the boat demonstrating how to bleed out, gut and ice down a BFT immediately after landing one.

It's been shot and we will release it soon.

@@LocalKnowledge right on sir. Too often excellent table fare is reduced to crap by not immediately bleeding and icing down the catch.

it's awesome guys. I'm looking for a spinning rod to pair my shimano stella 14000 for bluefin tuna foamers. what rod would you recommend? thank you
@LocalKnowledge Жыл бұрын
Depends on the size of the tuna? For fish up to 120# or so we really like the PENN heavy popping rod. For fish bigger than that you'll want a high end rig like a Race Point or similar.

First of all thanks for all the great content! Which Shimano Stella are you using and what rod did you pair it with? I've been looking for a while but so undecided. Most of the time I'm launching out of Mission bay chasing tuna and hopping kelps.

These guys are sponsored by Penn and he said in the episode it’s the Authority reels.
@LocalKnowledge2 жыл бұрын
We use PENN Authorities for our go to spinners matched with appropriate Carnage 3 rods. We've caught lots of tuna from 20-150# on the spin gear.

If you think that authority is smooth go try a shimano Stella. Penn reels are not smooth at all, shimano twinpower is the same price and so much smoother.
@LocalKnowledge2 жыл бұрын
No doubt they make great stuff. We really love our PENN gear though!
@Shhnee2 жыл бұрын
@@LocalKnowledge penn are nice work horses. I definitely am a shimano guy because I love their products, if you haven’t yet go try out a Trinidad, Tranx, or talica. All of those are some of the best designed reels on the market. Penn is has a slight industrial feeling to it, but still great value. I bet the handle won’t break on those authorities haha.
