I was in the BSA. I looked forward to earning my sub freezing camping badge. A little girl should NOT go camping with the young men...Too many reasons for example they should not be sleeping and sharing a tent with a young man, using the "bathroom" outdoors. They have GSA which is great and teaches the little Phillies life lessons like cooking and organizing for her future husband.

But, to your point, there is no place for putting the girls together with the boys in wayyy too many scenarios, nor with the same level of intensity of the challenges. The 4 H clubs since 1927 and seem to be accepted around the world, involved in farming and other community groups why not just incorporate them into on group I still believe the BSA could have years ago raised funds like the GSA instead of cookies they could have a special product designed especially for them, like special packed slim jims and beef jerkies. This could propel the BSA into millions of dollars in revenue and could actually join forces in selling both GSA and BSA sales groups together at selling promotions.

By the way, girls were part of explorer posts back in the 70s, however, explorers is separated however, still part of the Boy Scout organization. I think the scouts have lost their moral compass. I think the mortal wound for boy scouts was when they let openly gay men be scoutmasters. As a straight man, I would deem it grossly inappropriate for me to take teenage girls on a camping trip, so it's not saying gays are less trustworthy than straights. Putting a straight man in a position like that with nubile young women is playing with fire, and doing the same with a gay man and strapping young men is no wiser. Adding girls to the mix just ensures that the doomed organization will bleed out faster.

This has been in the works for a very long time, since at least I was in which ended in 2017. I don’t believe this is bad, the troops to my understanding are separate and not co-ed like the Venture Crew who can join at the age of 14, literally 3-4 years older. So, if you’re upset about it, I suppose that’s your prerogative. Hopefully, however, it will help to teach the next generation comrade, leadership, and how to enjoy the great outdoors.
