My first time here. Wow those microphones are awesome. All the words are picked up clearly and of course you do a great job speaking clearly, but the audio quality I can tell is much higher than other youtubers. This makes a huge difference when you are trying to learn spanish by listening to the sounds of the language. Good investment. Subscribed 😃

He estado viendo este podcast cada día por casi tres meses! Cuando empecé, solo entendía pocas palabras, pero hoy puedo entender la mayoría de lo que dicen. Todavía cometo errores pero estoy inspirada para mejorar. Gracias a Ana y David!

what else did you use to study? I’m 2 week in, and I’m where you were at

@@ashleybursch2804Reading helps SO much! Short stories, articles, movie subtitles, fanfictions…anything goes. Reading out loud also helps with memory and pronunciation. I watch movies occasionally (maybe once a week), and I have a language exchange partner in HelloTalk (free!) and we text each other often. Every time you encounter a phrase that seems useful or common, try putting it into sentences and saying them aloud. The most important thing is to study every day. :) Hope this helps…if you get the chance, let me know how your studies are going down the road!

@@ashleybursch2804hey! Thought I posted my reply but I think I deleted it. I said something like: Reading helps SO much! Short stories, novels, movie subtitles, fanfictions…anything goes. Reading out loud is great too, because you can practice your pronunciation at the same time. I also have a language exchange partner that I chat with often in HelloTalk (free!), and I occasionally watch movies too (don’t be afraid to watch a few with subs in English before you move to Spanish). I record myself speaking for 5-10 mins once a month (purely to track progress). The most important thing is to practice every day :) Hope this helps! If you get the chance, let me know how Spanish learning is going down the road.

Mil gracias🥹

Im back! Lmao, I uninstalled my duolingo a few months ago because I was so sick of spending hours to get those top3 every week. I made it to the highest rank, but too late to realised how burnt out I became with learning. Just installed it back recently with a vision to be able to speak basic spanish in a year. Will keep watching u guys from now on back again😅

Keep pushing forward!!! Learning a new language is a lifelong adventure. Duolingo is a fun game..and thats it. Like a crossword puzzle, I didn't learn my native language with one game....BUT I did use them along the way for entertainment. I have been studying for years and can understand 95% what David and Ana are saying....I'm at a level that I'm "shadowing" every word. Sometimes it's hard to remember the time I couldn't hear the words. It will happen.....takes hours and hours of listening.

I highly recommend Dreaming Spanish and this podcast. My, wife, and 6 y/o son are driving south through the Americas and started consistent Spanish study in Nov ‘22 when we crossed into Mexico. Started with Language Transfer. My wife was doing Duolingo and then quit shortly after discovering Comprehensible Input around February of ‘23. We’re now in Colombia and can understand pretty well… for example at the doctors office, in town, shopping, etc. but speaking isn’t that great. I’m at about 400 hours and my wife is around 600. My son can barely read and is able to have live classes where a teacher speaks only Spanish while he speaks English. It’s pretty impressive… but as was mentioned above, duolingo is a game it’s good at making you feel like you’re making progress. Oh and I’ve also considered Lingq which seems like a good app / setup that isn’t build to collect your personal data like others. Good luck! And stick with it learning Spanish has been a great experience for our family.
