I have been a hill country rut funnel hunter almost all my life, It is a great place to be during the rut, Hinge cutting, snow fence, a body of water with an opening or trail in between the water and a thick edge, a deadfall, a steep hill with a slight bench and another steep hill, and the list goes on. Tight areas with obstructions and wind advantage wins the game in the rut. All day sits. There is nothing more exciting than a rut funnel and the bucks running all day. I use king-sized pillow cases from goodwill for game bags.

Absolutely. If it’s a hot spot for deer travel why change it.
