My friends dad was an underwater welder. He would get contracted to work on Dams in the area. Said there are Catfish down at the bottom of dams that could easily swallow your arm or leg and hold you down.

A guy we went to school with, his dad told us of a time in the Tennessee River just below the dam when the water level was very low, they would wade out to these water pools where large catfish were laying down and put a rope through the fishes mouth and gill, guys on the bank would pull it in.
