Back in 1964, I went to the World's Fair in NYC. While there, there was a booth where you could request a penpal from all over the world. I ended up with a penpal from Fort Augustus, Scotland! It was a wonderful friendship. Unfortunately, we lost touch decades ago. Thanks for this video. At least now I know where she lived.

Thank you. Loved this. Was there in 1988 and visited the Benedictine Abbey which had a school attached as well as a remarkably interesting Scottish history section within the Abbey itself. I still have beautiful leather bookmarks bought there. No loch tours in 1988! Sad to hear that the whole place was “abandoned” a year later. Your presentation is a delight - thank you again.

I forgot to check this before making live this week. We usually have them around every 5 mins which we think is fair. ( this is our only way to make a small amount to help pay for time and expenses) KZbin by default makes the ads about every 3 so I go and change them. Hi there, new subscriber, where did the cruise depart from? I understand you can get a beer on the cruise? How much does it cost and how long does it take? Hi Aaron the cruise started here goo.gl/maps/emDqZKeTzypGDKoo8 We also stayed in Fort Augustus and drove up to make the 9.30 boat trip. It's two and a half hours and runs to the castle but does not stop at the castle, gets you close cruising by the castle. I am afraid I don't know if they serve beer on board or the price. Would you say visiting in winter is a bad idea?
@MemorySeekers3 жыл бұрын
I would not say it's a bad idea, but you would have to plan your trip carefully as some places/attractions are only open in certain seasons so you may not be able to do all the things we are. The weather can be unpredictable and if you get a lot of snow then some roads will be in accessible. It will also get dark around 3.30 so daylight hours are short. The different seasons bring you the Highlands in very different ways.
