Loch Rannoch : Highlands Loch Fishing : Stunning Wild Brown Trout Markings

Fishing the beautiful and remote Loch Rannoch with my good friend Douglas from PiscatorUK ‪@PiscatorUK-Fishing‬ Our target today was the Arctic Charr of which there are three distinct lines in the loch along with wild Brown Trout, Ferox Trout, Pike and Perch. .
We were pleased just to get the opportunity to fish together after such a long break, work, shoulders and the weather have each played their part in our fishing sessions being somewhat restrained this year. The good companionship made up for the lack of Charr and the stunning colours and patterns of the Wild Brown Trout never fail to amaze me.
I hope you enjoy the amazing Scottish scenery on route over Glen Shee and my attempts to capture the loch with the drone footage.

I think I read in the past that the road priority here came from the knights of old riding their horses. As most were right handed, they passed on the left so they could defend / attack with a sword in their right hand. True? I don't know, but it's a nice story .

The only time I have seen char from Rannoch was many years ago when the university of Glasgow where doing research on char and the foremost char expert who wrote books on char was there, and they were netting in the middle of the loch and putting char in big bins the expert guy showed me the two types of char in the loch the ones that live on the bottom and the ones that live halfway, the bottom ones are very dark in colour.

Thanks for that information. Those Charr are a most interesting species. I've enjoyed reading about them and how different they are even within the same loch.
