Hi guys. We are safe and well at home and daily vlogging from home. Our broadband at home as been switched off so we are waiting for that to be turned on again then we can do some live streams. Hi Guys, on your next video can you explain why you have to leave your lodge during this time and also why you have to leave for a month every January? I'm very confused about this since I don't know anyone who does this and I don't know about the whole concept of "lodge or trailer homes". If you buy or lease/rent the lodge then why do you have to leave? That's almost like someone being kicked out of their apartment or house that they pay monthly for. I've watched the video of why you decided to get into a lodge but I still don't understand the reason or concept behind doing so and what the difference is between living in a lodge versus an apartment. I along with some of us would really enjoy hearing about it 😊 Thank you!

Jay1637 static caravans or lodges on these parks are holiday homes and not classed as your main home. They close for 4-6 weeks during the year so as to keep the status of holiday home. There are some sites that stay open all year round but I think the fees are much higher. There’s a lot of legal stuff around it, for example no council tax is paid the parks but paid on your main home etc but my explanation is of it in a nutshell ... that’s how it works at my dad’s holiday home site anyway, nick and Leigh’s May be a bit different. My dad’s site is now closed for the foreseeable too. So sad as we love going there, such a happy place. But, this shall pass and when you guys return it’ll be like a new Lodge all over again :)

I believe it's a legal requirement. The lodge can't be their permanent home as they won't pay council tax. They will pay "fees" to the place where their lodge is which gets their bins emptied but they need a residence and their names be registered there for council tax. My parents lived on a lodge site not far from theirs and that's how they did it. You "officially" have to go back to the house and live there for a bit of time but no one ever did. I guess the Lodge Guys do it properly. Or their rules are different.

Jay1637 the lodge is on a holiday park and one of the rules is no-one can live there full time. The park closes for January so no one can be there then. I’m guessing it’s closed due to CV19 so that’s why they had to leave

Agreed, here in the US, if that lodge is your home then you could stay put. The lodge is more posh than many people’s main house. Also being out a ways would keep you safer.

You could see it in your faces and I know everyone's going through their own stuff at present, but it doesn't mean you guys have to mask your own. I can see what an exhausting day this was for you, and it’s clear why. I’m sure it’s not easy to uproot yourself like that at more or less a moment’s notice, and it definitely takes an emotional toll. Those of us who just have to stay in one place are more fortunate than those who are forced to move the way you did, and I appreciate but you were able to still make a vlog during all this upheaval.

I’m so sorry you had to leave, I live in a Texas and live in a RV full time. The city next to ours has closed all hotels and RV resorts to guest staying less than 30 days. We are getting prepared ourself just in case.

I'm sorry you had to go thru so much... I know a lot are asking as I am but the housing situation w/ the lodge is a strange concept to me .... I live in America and I am a property manager.... W/ this virus situation landlords and renters have been basically ordered to work out a solution where if rent isn't paid by the due date then we try to get a payment arrangement...no late charges are accessed and any evictions will have a delay... there is no free rent and evictions will follow thru when it becomes allowed again.... stay strong !!!!

Cant believe u had to leave the Lodge :( my MIL she owns a large caravan in Dorset and has been told although the park is closed she can still visit her caravan to stay in. Alot of work into having to move, feel for u both. You will get through it. Keep positive , support each other and love all the vlogs. ❤

Our holiday home park in Pembrokeshire only opened for one weekend before it got shut , im gutted i left my mothers day gift (pink gordons gin) in the caravan thinking we be back the following weekend, i dont think it would be classed as essential travel to get it lol.... stay safe and well 😀😀😀

Very stressful and where would you go if you didnt have a place to go!! We have shared your anxiety as we have moved in to new build on Tuesday just in time after having to live in our motor home for 6 weeks.The site has now closed so as i said just in time. My daughter in a difficult situation as before the virus they were told they had to leave the cottage they were renting so they looked for another place to live and were due to move this Saturday. In the meantime the government had said don’t move unless you have to. They have no choice but to move or they will be homeless as they might loose the new cottage

My mum and dad just went thru this too. They were hoping to stay at their caravan park (where they spend most of the year), but as soon as the schools closed and all the families raced to the coast that first weekend, they closed the park down :(. My parents were hoping to shelter there out of the way due to my dad's underlying health conditions and felt less at risk there. Unfortunately this was spoilt for them. They were really upset too as they think of the coast as their home :(. Glad you are settled now tho x
