I had a feeling beforehand this game was uncertain despite how they looked yesterday against the Reds and the Marlins loss the night before to the Dodgers. Win or lose, keep the faith but also realistic it’s an uphill climb with the distance being created with each loss.

I can't wait til next season. I can't wait to have our team back together. Also, taking Merrifield out of the lineup for a rusty Ozzie Albies was a terrible decision. Albies is obviously the better player overall but he's not 100% and Merrifield has been hot. Right now, in this moment Merrifield is the better player and should be in the lineup and on the field over Albies. Yeah, maybe if you have a 5 game lead for a playoff spot maybe it's worth it to let Ozzie get some at-bats to get ready for the playoffs but as it stands this is a team that, after tonight I think it's fair to say cannot lose another game if they are going to make it.

I was thinking the same about Merrifield and Albies, that wasn’t a good move, and Morton with that bad bottom of the first was it, Braves have struggled when playing from behind, even worse than usual in that situation.

@@kyleOWillFixIt I'd rather see Merrifield at short with Albies at 2nd. Whitt could play SS right?
@kyleOWillFixItАй бұрын
@@Soulstillburns-r1g Probably not well. Definitely not to the level Arcia can. Arcia is giving you defense and a few homers. Albies is giving you neither offensive nor defensive improvement over Merrifield at the moment. Swapping Merrifield in for Arcia is a trade-off, offense for defense. Swapping Merrifield in for rusty, and banged up Albies is just a straight upgrade.

Hi, Jake and Grant ! A frustrating loss AGAIN. Had opportunities to win but this poor offense team just can’t put up runs consistently . Marlins , who emptied their roster at trade deadline ( a no-name team no offense intended)!! We have seen this movie too many times this season. I don’t have problem with Albies in lineup but not in 2nd spot , since he had been out for 2 months. Dumb decision by manager!!
@lelandhurtjr6308Ай бұрын
I have been involved in baseball for 45 years and this team defies any definitions . 6 hr, 4- three run homers in a game, score 15 runs ; move to next city and struggle to score even the 3 runs we did score . The most consistently inconsistent team in MLB is this Braves club!! A golden opportunity to pick up a game on Mets, remain 2 games back. Postseason is looking more dim.

Congratulations Mets, we been eating at the big boy table for years, "looks" like this year, yall might get sit at the adult table...course I'd hate to remind you that ya Mets led the division for the Entire 2022 season, until we swept yall in the last the 3 games to take "our" division...again...and oddly, look who we play "again" this year for 3 games at the end... I'll give ya credit yall playing great, keep in mind, we're still right there and we got "4" DFA'd players playing on the the team...ya ask me, it speaks to just how much better we are than nearly any other team...we have 4 "fired" players having to play, yet somehow we didnt just get bounced weeks back...im under no illusions that we're a strong team, but ive seen teams fall when their "1" main guy goes down or is slumping...sure the mets are playing better than us and most other teams right now, but one 2nd half "wildcard push" for the postseason doesnt in anyway just jump yall into the category along side the my Atlanta Braves, the Dodgers, Houston (who im sure ya forgot, we beat in the WS)...but enjoy your run while it last, history shows the Braves have owned the Mets since... literally forever...hey it's nothing personal, just a sports fan talking $hit about another sports fan team...last i checked, that's what its all about.... See yall (Mets) next week...

Missing Acuna he had 70 Stolen bases which meant that the pitchers were throwing more fast balls to batters. Than he had 40 home runs out of the lead off spot when they flipped the line up. The pressure to perform wasn’t there as we had early and often base runners.
@Jackson09Ай бұрын
@@benjaminwalters7800thank you for explaining that...the hitters in the lineup, vastly dictate what pitches the next batter sees...see Aaron Judge...Acuna just being on base messes with pitchers so yeah, definitely more fastballs but also more "balls" too, because of the attention he demands... great reply...

I think The Great Jason Kelenic Experiment has run its course. His destiny as a fourth OF in the MLB is secure. However, the Braves may have resolved their LF worries for next year. Seems like Ramon Laureano likes playing and hitting with winners. AA would be wise to take a flyer on his bat next year. Also, PLEASE find another SS for next year. I am TIRED of Arias' free-swinging ways. He is useless next year, and he is not all that as a SS. Time to get younger there, with more contact. Can't have Arias and Albies free-swinging this team into submission. I talk of next year because last night's inexcusable loss has no forgiveness - especially after LA smoked Marlins pitching for 20 runs the night before. With the exception of Harris, no one put together professional at-bats yesterday, and Albies was just pathetic and feeble. Ride or die with Whit Merrifield, because Albies is NOT gonna do a damned thing the rest of the way except suck and free-swing. What a wasted season of GREAT playoff-worthy pitching!!!

@@jeremiah_12 For the Braves, as bad as this season has been they are still in contention for a playoff berth. Perhaps Mets fans are just more used to adversity than Braves fans.
