Edit: Kirk has a Hall of Fame Agent. Aaron sounds like a typical Kirk Crusader. I am a Vikings Fan. And crusaders have ALWAYS found excuses for him. The amount of money you're spending on mediocrity is insanity. Imagine you didn't pick up Kirk, and drafted Penix. All that extra money could've been used to sign players to elevate your team as a whole. But nah. Falcons put ALL their eggs in one basket. This has been Kirk's MO! Make money first, which is fair. But he sees this as just a job. He doesn't play it for the love of it or he won't make sacrifices to win. He's done it to Washington, Minnesota, and now Atlanta! He is a garbage time warrior. He makes himself look like a fixer, but he is not. 1 play off win in Minnesota. That's it! For how much money he sucks up that isn't great.

Thanks to each of you for reporting this game. I could not watch it. After watching highlights, we have red zone problems, and the defensive backfield looked terrible at times. Other teams see our scheme and personnel weaknesses and are exposing them. With a set of first year coordinators and a feel -good HC, this season is an experiment more than a decisive run toward playoffs. Is Penix so far behind the learning curve he cannot provide a spark to this offense? Hard for me to believe that. Kirk needs to sit down. It happens in every other sport as needed. Because the HC is in love with Kirk who was, and he’s put his name on winning with him this season, that’s why he’s insistent on seeing Kirk through. And I understand that from the trust and respect standpoint. I also understand HC is concerned with stability in his job, the building, and locker room. But if you want to win now to have a chance later, ou make adjustments to improve your chances.
@Trinison7Ай бұрын
I agree with Aaron. The expectations of this team were too high by our fan base. This is the facts, first time offensive play caller, first time defensive play caller, new quarterback coming off an Achilles, playing in a new offense with new players, new head coach. For those who is expecting super bowl in 2024 pretty misguided. This is a team that's just trying to make the playoffs. Their super bowl run is in 2025. With Dan Quinn first year, we where 5 and 0 then ended the season 8 and 8 and missed the playoffs. Then went to the super bowl the following year. And he didn't have all of the new things going on, like first time play calls, and a quarterback in the system for his first year. This is what normal growth looks like. Too many times we see teams have immediate success and feel that is the norm it is not. When it comes to Kirk I'm like this. We finish 7 and 10 again, he either competes for his job next year, or gets traded. But if we have a winning record but we don't make the playoffs he is on a Russell Wilson short leash for 2025. We make the playoffs and all of this goes away. Now with all the newness I just mentioned, You put in Penix, you have no idea what you're going to get and you're still going to have the same issues that are many and also not related to the quarterback. Plus he is Left-Handed which means different types of protections, and the receiving core having to adjust to the spin of a left-handed quarterback. Which will be now additional issues. The only way Penix sees the field is if we're out of playoff contention. Period. And by the way that is the smartest thing to do. For quarterback flipping, which is normally unsuccessful, costs people their jobs. The only challenging team left right now is the Commanders. And to me Penix does not give you a better chance to win that game. Cuz again there are too many other issues here than just the quarterback. If we go to Penix let him have a full off-season where he is working with the ones. In regards to coaching keep the coaching staff get rid of the players that are not pulling their weight. You can't keep changing coaches at some point in time you have to start looking at The players.
@shemeansdolby4924Ай бұрын
The players are the same, for the most part. They have not utilized their rookies, zero production, zero. Coaching is the issue. 100%

Team is better than what they've shown these last 4 Games. I want to know how a 6-3 Team that had Comeback & Record Breaking Wins can all of a sudden find all kinds of ways to lose. We've lost with Defense, Special Teams, Offense & Coaching & these loses are on the Team as a Whole. This isn't High School Football its Grown Men & they have to do something to right this ship or else this season will go down as 1 of the worst collapses in NFL History. I refuse to take anyone serious that's focuses on 1 Player while ignoring all the ways this team has lost during this streak.

I gotta say theres a lot of blame to go around but at the end of the day the great teams. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Steelers, Texans, rams, 49ers, lions, vikings, packers all have great coaches the only exception being the eagles who I think have one of the most loaded rosters of all time on offense. Most of those teams have younger QBs who they are making a future for besides Stafford who has a cannon for an arm still and Wilson whos a game manager at this point since they are a defensive power house. We need to start all over with a young up and coming stud coach not a recycled one who has never even been a top coordinator let alone HC. This off season they need to try and trade kirk, get a new coaching staff with veteran coordinators and a innovative young HC. Penix is the future but where punting our future down the road at least 4 more years riding out this sinking ship
@shane-gf9voАй бұрын
And ill add this, usually the winning formula is having a young HC who was previously a top tier coordinator and then for the coordinators you wanna have an in house talent that was groomed by a former regime (which we dont have) or you get a veteran playcaller who maybe failed as a HC in the past but was formerly an expert on their side of the ball. Flores, Smith, Quinn, Fangio etc. The best part about this method is your coordinators are less likely to get stolen because they have already failed as a HC in the past so you have some consistency as OC and DC. Saleh would be a solid DC hire for a new staff Ben Johnson as HC and then an OC that could be a up and coming talent that Ben Johnson mentors as he calls the offense. The Falcons roster is similar to the Lions I think Johnson would cook here

Now I respect Aaron's opinion most of the time. But THIS time is not it. Yes, this game is not entirely on kirk cousins. The defense was horrible. But at the same time, kirk is not contributing to anything either. He literally leads the league in turnovers and once again has a week where he's thrown more than 1 interception and no touchdowns. THIS was the game where kirk needed to step up and he didn't. Game wasn't entirely on him but he still has been playing horrible. It's time for penix. Saying it doesn't make sense, DOESNT MAKE SENSE. I don't think it's about kirk being unhealthy at all. I think he's just mentally not there anymore. He's scared in the pocket. He's too fidgety. He hesitates when he throws the ball. At least with penix we can at least see if it will be an improvement. Not to mention, pwnix has a rocket for an arm and has zip on his passes unlike kirk. There are so many reports about the coaches and the team LOVING what they're seeing out of penix in practice. And what we as fans have seen from penix this season, he has been pretty damn good. We can't defend kirk anymore. He literally single handedly lost us the game against the chargers and that's not okay. We can't keep riding the 500 yard game he had anymore. That's in the past now. We aren't first place in the division any more. Kirk cousins isn't winning you games any more and isn't even contributing to scores. We need change. End of story.
@mylesmerritt5894Ай бұрын
Also, I don't even think that starting penix would be "starting over" either. More so, I think it's about creating a spark. Why do you think teams sub out their starting qb if they're struggling in game? To help them reevaluate themselves, rest, and to create a spark on offense. The yardage for kirk is there. But THATS OBVIOUSLY not enough. We don't care about yards. We care about scoring the football. And if kirk can't do it, someone else can. Free, you probably won't read this, but come on man. You have wayyyyy too much hope for kirk. We all know and hopefully you should know as well that Kirk's play isn't enough. We can blame the defense all we want to but that still doesn't excuse last week. There no way you truly think that starting penix is such a bad idea
