I started a KZbin channel here in Dumaguete a few weeks ago. And after hearing the grief that rained down on you and others and the crazy slander laws here, I am thinking long and hard about shutting it down before it happens to me. I only have 15 subs so far and already have trolls leaving comments looking for a fight. I thought it might be fun and help others coming here but definitely not worth taking the chance of getting involved in that kind of nightmare you experienced. I have another channel on my Alaska living that’s was somewhat successful so I think I should just be content with that. Thanks for sharing your experience. It certainly has been a warning to me and others. I am thinking Vietnam or Cambodia might be the place to be now.

Seems to be a lot of it out there... But I'm about living a quiet, peaceful, rewarding life... and our channel is about that journey, adjusting to the differences this beautiful country presents, and of course, life in a relationship with a beautiful filipina. What are your future plans? Is it possible you might travel to other south east Asia or Central American countries? Me personally I was looking at Costa Rica or the Dominican Republic. This and a number of other posts I've read and the responses they've generated convince me that KZbin should come with an official warning like Cigarettes! Let me illustrate why by quoting a few examples. "A KZbinr claims he approached the BOI and asked about the reason for your detention. He was told 'because Paul owed money in respect of non repayment of the money he embezzled." Is there any truth in that? Consider the FACTS Paul is a convicted felon known to lie if asked and he responded could you 100% rely on his answer? However since 9/11 the USA has led the world in identifying fugitives and serious criminals. The Immigration Service of the country you travel to get passenger details flying to the country from airlines. Those who pose a significant risks are red flagged. The others can ve run through agency databases such as interpol, europol, FBI and similar national databases. Some countries choose not to check. In Paul's case he left the Philippines returned to the US then left the US to return to the Philippines. Had he been a fugitive in the US for non payment in respect of his conviction he would have been dealt with. When he was detained by the BOI they hve a duty to inform the US Embassy again if he was a wanted fugitive he'd be returned to the US in custody and taken to court. So to answer the question "Is there any truth in that?" Highly unlikely! Some people love to gossip and engage in intrigue. Filipinos and some expats seem to excel in this pastime. In my view Paul Cardwell made a foolish decision to go on KZbin and blatantly lie and mislead people a out his past drawing attention to himself. That led to his downfall. I think, perhaps, his biggest error was to be successful on You Tube! When Mark Thornton decided to put on the white hat and sheriff's badge and expose the deceit. Was he being a "good citizen" or looking to bolster his channel? You decide! The reguests to "post the receipts" to prove you paid your debts are incredible! It's none of our business. The issue was dealt with by the US legal system whose responsibility it is. What is or was relevant to the case has been made public. As a viewer or subscriber you can choose to accept or refute what's been posted. You can choose to unsubscribe or indeed criticise. You cannot expect answers to any questions!

I have heard higher ups for European embassies in Bangkok say that their primary purpose is regarding trade, and what they will not officially state is that they are also focused on the higher echelons of society from whatever nationality they are covering.
