I don't make that much of what Eli said. He's clearly hurt by Bama moving on from him. I think he'll get past that and look back on his time there with great affection. Bama was ready to move on, and he wasn't. He shouldn't have said what he said and clearly he could have handled all of this with a bit more class. But I can understand the hurt feelings.

I think Eli Gold felt like he was offered a "poison pill" contract which was designed for him to reject so that they could have an excuse to move on without looking like the bad guy. There doesn't seem to have been a good faith negotiation from the Alabama side.

Stewart is light years better than Eli. I never listened to Eli. His calls were always meh. Stewart is colorful and exciting, Stewart is on time with game (Eli struggled with this for years). Eli is being a baby. Even if he was fired, WHICH HE WAS NOT, he still shouldn’t be making such a scene. He is burning down everything he had at Alabama. It’s really dumb but a fragile ego can make people do crazy things. Good riddance.
