It is clear to me that Josh Allen is hurt. The Bills have a history of understating the degree to which Josh is hurt if they disclose it at all. Somehow, he seems to be exempt from the strict reporting rules the NFL has in place for injury reporting. He has played entire seasons with lingering elbow and shoulder injuries that they never talk about. Most people just claim Josh is wildly inconsistent. How does an NFL player play 3 games as the very best QB in the league for three games, and then he plays as the worst QB in the league in 30 years for two games. The whole world saw Josh get knocked unconscious and then return to the game 1 play later. Josh deserves credit for being made of steel, but unless the Bills want Cam Newton on the team in three years, this approach needs to be reconsidered.

He is hurt enough already this season to not want to dig in and run for some hard yards. Ive never seen that from Allen before. A nerfed Allen is an ineffective Allen. Why does everyone think they had to get that first down. If the Bills ran 3 straight plays into the line and gained zero yards, they would still be kicking from exactly the same spot. The only difference was the Texans would be out of time outs. They needed yardage for the FG after they ran the play that put them in FG range they called a TIMEOUT with 2 seconds on the clock.

I don't think it's fair to shit on Ben Johnson for refusing to take the right HC opening, when many desperate candidates just take whatever option is given to them even though they're in situations that set them up to fail. He probably only wanted to coach Herb at LAC and Josh at Buffalo, and good for him for having the balls to be choosy.

I understand there are a lot of things that happen on the sidelines of each game that grab Josh’s attention. Perhaps it’s the cameraman who seem to only show Josh sitting on sideline with him looking at the tablet. Joe, have you or fans who attend the game see him huddling his offense firing them up or letting them know what they need out there? He seems like an island when he is sitting on the bench. He’s the leader, players need to see him fired up. It’s contagious and fun to see. Like the playoff Kanas City game till we lost.

This podcast is on point. That especially goes for your take on all the overreactions to McDermott's coaching and a couple of loses. I'm going to post on Facebook about the receivers but basically that boils down to my being wrong about how much they would use Coleman at the beginning of the year and me being totally surprised they chose Shavers over Hamlin given the first pass play tells us they wanted to do what Houston did for 67 yards and Hamlin is a much better choice for that then Shavers.

I said we should trade for Amari Cooper after week 3 because he's cheap and is rock solid deep ball WR. Also I really thought the last two drafts with Sean being a D first HC has pushed Beane to draft DL, Edge and DBs heavy last 3 drafts. I mean we have Josh Allen! Honestly, the number one thing that I fear with this team is firing Sean McDermott. This isn't the Cowboys who lose every single year in the first round of the playoffs. Sean McDermott has consistently coached up players and schemed brilliant defensive game plans. I don't trust anyone but him to make this defense at all functional, given the injuries it has sustained. He is brilliant at identifying his players strengths and weaknesses, plugging holes not just with backups, but with schemes and good coaching which allow those backups to play disciplined, and to their strengths. He has made mistakes, yes, but come on, the guy has led the Bills on good playoff runs year after year. Personally, I think that the Bills have a fighting chance at a Super Bowl this year, providing: 1. McDermott gets a healthy defense for the playoffs. 2. The Bills make a move, as Joe suggests, for an upgrade at wide receiver over one of the current lower end pieces. 3. Coleman, Knox, Kincaid, and Samuel find their rhythm. These things happen, I think the Bills are a true contender. A Shakirless offense really prevented Allen from even getting a chance to put on his superman cape. He had literally nowhere to reliably throw the ball. Coleman had some great and some rough plays- which I am overjoyed with. He's going to be an absolute stud once he gets some more experience. Kincaid had a couple of good plays too, but he still needs to settle in a bit more too. That's fine. But Samuel? He's done nothing. I am hoping that bringing in another set of reliable hands, an upgrade to one of the duds in Houston, will open Samuel up for the occasional sneaky play. Cook and Shakir have been phenomenal so far, and Coleman, Kincaid, and Knox have potential, so bringing in one more guy would really help turn the potential guys into scarier weapons. Even if this isn't the year, I think it will be a good year to get lots of these guys experience. Coleman and Kincaid especially, have been put in a good position to get lots of reps, and I am excited to see what they can do when paired with a number one receiver, hopefully coming to Buffalo next year. Regardless, the only way I can be mad with the results of any game this season is if it is due to a bad call or a missed kick. 3-2 still ain't terrible- lot's of potential for this team yet to come!

It is on Josh Allen to make the right decision. He literally killed us. But how often are we running 12 personnel? I think Josh is the one that needs to grow late in games. He still thinks that the way to win in tight end game situations is to throw for the TD. Like you said, we don't have the receivers for that anymore. He needs to mature and play boring football with small 6 to 9 yard passes. He should be telling himself every game, if this wins us games and gets us a SB I need to do this. I really think the boring stuff is Josh's best asset. He literally stands in his own way

The hell that Spencer brown would have to pay for those penalties or Bass for all those missed kicks if he was under belichick or Andy Reid. Just feels like a “we get ice cream if we win or lose” type of mentality lol. There’s nobody better out there aside from McDermott , I get that . Unless Tom Brady decided to coach haha 😂

Stop with the WR excuses for Beane, Joe. 1. Beane chose not to draft a first round WR in 2023 and 2024 (and trade up for an elite WR) despite Diggs’ discontent in and after the January 2023 Bengals playoff debacle and spring 2023 minicamp drama. It was obvious Diggs was not long for Buffalo and wanted out, as with the Vikings. 2. Beane chose to take all of the Diggs cap hit in 2024 rather than spread it out over two years. He chose that. It was not required. Don’t talk about cap problems due to Diggs limiting what Beane could do in 2024 free agency. 3. Beane’s approach has left the Bills with a WR room of replacement level (or below) players and Shakir. That’s the result of Beane’s multiyear choices in the draft and free agency.
@peterwilson4865
@peterwilson4865 7 сағат бұрын
How would they have gotten a big time WR by spreading out that cap hit? They should've drafted a 2nd one for sure, but trading up for one was not really feasible or advisable when they had a lot of other positions to restock. Much rather rip off the bandaid with Diggs. They'll be completely free of his cap ramifications next year and that is a good thing.
@Chudley716
@Chudley716 6 сағат бұрын
So they needed to do other restructures like for Josh. I’m not saying Diggs cap spread out would have been enough. But there was a way, just not a will. Beane chose mediocrity at WR and that’s why they have this mess of a passing offense.
@peterwilson4865
@peterwilson4865 5 сағат бұрын
@@Chudley716 I just think they're better off with all of the relief they'll get next year from the Diggs maneuver vs splitting it. I think the biggest issue is that: 1. They didn't draft a field stretcher in the mid rounds, but there wasn't a whole lot to choose from after the 1st round. Trade up in the 4th could've gotten somebody like Javon Baker or Tez Walker, but that was basically the end of the line for potential usefulness in year 1 at WR. 2. They should've spent the Samuel contract allotment on an established veteran boundary guy. DJ Chark signed for 1 year 5 million. Josh Reynolds was 2 years 14 million. Even a guy like DeMarcus Robinson would've made a difference and been a better fit for the roster. 3. Samuel HAS to be used as a boundary field stretcher from here on out. He's capable of it, but otherwise wtf was the point in signing another slot only gadget guy? They haven't shown any willingness to use him in such a way. That's on Brady to me though.

You always talk about quarterback and wide receiver, chemistry … And at this point in times, there was not a lot of chemistry with the new ride receivers… so bring in more notable name wide receiver without a quarterback receiver, chemistry in the same thing, particularly without any camp practices…. The failure of the passing games first of Texas is not due to poor chemistry…. Failure of Alan Rolling to a not open receiver…. He had four reeds…. The second Alan issue was his inaccuracy….. he had holllims open on both of those deep passes… and the third is running by Coleman…. All of those have nothing to do with chemistry, but player mistakes

Funny how so few mention holding Beane accountable? Of course things will play out, that's a given. Hind sights always perfect, but we all play that game including you every day. Beane has assembled a pathetic WR room.... Again. He brought in the disastrous, girl friend battering Miller contract, that's been a mitigated disaster. Dawson Knox making $15M a year and has 30 yards and is a non-factor!! Kincaid looks like a decent mid-level TE, NOT a #1 pick! Elam is a #1 bust. Taking a $32M dead cap hit on Diggs looks idiotic. I'd rather have Diggs diva act, than Curtis Samuels 30 yards!! (Plus that Viking 2nd round draft pick for Diggs is looking closer to an early 3rd round pick). Beane constantly puts everything on Josh's back. Just look at his WR picks every year. He expects Allen to just make everyone he brings in better. Hope is not a strategy, but that's EXACTLY what Beane does every year. He hopes. This is looking more like a 9 win team. Beane needs to do much better.

Should we win the division yes. make the playoffs yes. Beat the chiefs ravens bengals or texans in the playoffs probably not. So we are who we are. A really good team not a great one. Josh isn't the smartest QB ever to play. Who is the HC? McD. Who has done interviews and pressers acknowledging being talked to but use the excuse of "I'm a football player" or just outright mocked the staff? Josh. How many games has Sugar High Josh throw multiple INTs, do the PC saying I have to be smarter, then do the exact same thing again. Josh is a highlight reel but consistancy in his passes and managing the game isn't something he has shown the ability to do game after game.

I am definitely a fan that is very critical of the coaching staff…. But I do not blame the coaching staff for this game…. I totally put the blame on Josh Allen come on! nine of 30??? Are you kidding me?… your were horrible in reading the defense. You are horrible and delivering the ball….. stop reading the newspapers to say that you were the front runner for the MVP… stay away from all that talk….. What’s it with the scrambling to the right side every single play?…. After three seconds off you go…. you have no pocket ability in maneuvering. It has now become so so predictable. So easy for the defense that covers that where is your imagination Alan? Look at Patrick Mahomes, scrambling ability. Step left step right is out back forward 360 scrambles right scrambles left…. He understand how to maneuver in the pocket… that’s what makes them great… he can also read the defense better than anyone. He’s also much more accurate.
