Time to think about the future. Miami's priority this off-season is to trade Jimmy and get off from some of these contracts. Build around Bam, and I don't mean make him the #1 option... Bam is the anchor of the team and should be a #3 option when it's all set and done over the next couple of years. Keep your young talent. Start building for the future. Do not get these old, washed up players like Westbrook, or Lavine, or players who really won't move the needle like Ingraham, Trey Young, etc. to try and force this to work on Jimmy's timeline. He's 35 guys... let's get serious. Think about the future. Time to rebuild.

Perhaps a good thing that Celtics won the championship for now the heat front office has to make a big move
@juliogonzalez47645 ай бұрын
The Heat need to learn to give developing players with promise (like Highsmith, Strus, Vincent) 4 year deals at a low price with team options after season 2. This will give the Heat some return on their investment, and if the player doesn't work out the Heat can let him go. Instead they give the player a 2 year deal with a player option. Makes no sense. If they always leave once they've been coached up why even go down that road. It's a waste of time. No other team does that BS. Just sign low cost veteran role players with experience. The coaching staff can concentrate on coaching the real NBA level players on our team and maybe we won't lose to Boston 7 out of 8 games in a season.
@shawncain8825 ай бұрын
You have to consider the flip side of giving developing players 4-year deals. As much as fans like to think we know better than GMs, we actually don't. And we don't even realize how much we don't know and understand the CBA.

Would rather get two starters in Murray and Kuzma, I think it is possible if Atlanta is willing to trade Dejounte. To compete against Boston or teams in the west we need size and we can’t have defensive liabilities as we do now. Dejounte, Jaime, Jimmy, Kyle and Bam is a great starting five with better scoring, better defense and more size.

Heat draft Zach Edey and Hunter Sallis probably most underrated best PG in the 2nd round, ZYON Pullin, Keshad Johnson, or Antonio Reeves. Zach Edey is NBA ready, great touch on offense, can pass out the double, and when you need an easy bucket. If they don't get a center then I'm done watching them onto they do someone like Edey. Sign Jonas in free agency. I love this teams chance with the new roster after this move. If you trade Jimmy it has to be 5 first round draft pick and 2 young players. If you go for Lauri, you give herro, 2 future first round pick, and sign and trade Highsmith Dejounte or Hunter Sallis or ZYON PULLIN, Keshad Johnson Terry or Malik Monk Niko Jaime Jimmy Duncan Bam Kevin Love Zach Edey Jonas Val or Nic Claxton

Really think the roster is pretty much already set, HH and Caleb will walk, replaced by Jaquez and Jamal Cain. Bam, Butler, Herro, Rozier, Duncan, Jaquez, Jovic, Cain, JRich, Love/TB, Patty, 15th pick, that's 12 roster spots filled then there's Wrigth, ORob, Swider, and the 43rd pick. I think this would be the perfect off-season for the heat, it’s the best option if we want to win now without fully destroying our future and depth. Miami receives: Dejounte Murray and Kyle Kuzma (they lose herro 3 first round picks and a second round pick) Utah receives Tyler Herro (they lose Collin sexton and a second round pick) Washington receives Rozier, a Miami first round pick and a Miami 2nd round pick (they lose Kuzma) Atlanta receives: Collin Sexton, two Miami first round pics, a Utah second round pick (They lose dejounte) I wanted to move Tyler and two picks to Atlanta, but i dont see the fit with Trae. Utah had shown interest in Tyler so I sent Colin and a second to Atlanta instead of Tyler (Idk if this is an accurate value for Tyler tbh, i stuggle a lot with Tyler's value) Miami trade tyler and picks to surround Bam and Jimmy with size, defense and scoring to compete now in the east while keeping key role players as Duncan, Jaime and Jovic. Also resigning both Haywood Highsmith and Delon Wright. Starting 5: Murray, Jaime, Jimmy, Kyle, Bam 2 options: Delon, Duncan, Highsmith, Jovic, Love

Should the Heat look towards Ball and Drummond instead?
@ryansproviero5 ай бұрын
How close to his ceiling is Herro? That's the real question with him. Does he have it in him to take another step forward? For me, it's in his ball handling and that's where his below-average wingspan plays a disadvantage. His shooting as well but he's overcome it for the most part in that aspect. My gut says it's time to move on and take a step towards dialing back the cap. I've looked to Utah because Ainge has been rumored in the past to like Herro. The Spurs might be the more realistic target. They have the cap space and picks to make it work. Open some space, add/upgrade a draft pick, and keep Haywood and/or Caleb. I know people want to make a splash but sometimes the pool is closed.
