@juliogonzalez47649 күн бұрын
The problem Heat fans have with Herro is the same thing they have with most of the other top players on the Heat. They are overpaid and are incomplete players. Robinson, like Herro is inconsistent offensively and a complete defensive liability and are overpaid and therefore we can not get (or keep) players that could make our roster better. Butler is the same. He consumes 50 mil in cap space and misses more than 25% of his games and half asses it when he does play. Herro like Robinson and Butler are untradeable and therefore we're just going to have to put up with the mess that Riley has made by falling in love (and overpaying) with incomplete players until their contracts are up.

@dstreet45999 күн бұрын
Honestly, sure, at least with his current playstyle. There's still room for improvement in his game, and he'll probably make them but I don't think Tyler is going to take some big leap. He's been taking the most shots on the team for the past 3 seasons and is stuck at ~20 PPG on subpar overall efficiency. Even when Tyler came back in December after the ankle injury, he was putting up 26 PPG on 48/43/86 splits (60% TS) for his first six games back. So he was still hot and in rhythm just like he was before the injury. The problem was that he fell off a cliff as soon as we reached 2024, putting up 19 PPG 42/39/78 (53% TS) from the Clippers game in January 1st until he got hurt against New Orleans in February 23rd (he played in 22 out of the 24 games in that stretch). So I'm not sure how much injury really affected his season compared to the possibility that he simply burned out after a hot start.

@@JayK07 The team didn't change much from December to January outside of the Lowry/Rozier trade on January 23rd...10 games (11 games really if we count the Utah loss in December 30th) after Tyler started to struggle. People defending Tyler attribute his drop off due to injuries and still project him to play at that level next season. Tyler is a good player, even a starting level player, but his improvements aren't enough to completely overshadow his weaknesses. Tyler has improved his defense over his career but even then he's average at best and is going to be the first player other teams target. Tyler has improved his playmaking but again he's just somewhat solid in that area and not enough to play that role full-time as a starter. Tyler lacks the speed, size, and/or ball-handling skills to get to the basket, and his negative wingspan makes it easier for defenders to contest him when he gets there. As a result, he's shoots abysmally at the rim and doesn't get to the line. All of this limits what he can do with his current play style.

Injuries in the playoffs last season and then came back for the last 5 games this season and was tasked to lead the team with no Jimmy, Terry, Duncan, Love(unplayable) and only Bam as his big. No reliable shooting around him or Bam. Imagine having no experience as a #1 option in the regular season to then in the playoffs are asked to lead a team coming back from a foot injury while shaking off the rust from missing over 20 games while missing a bunch of key players against the best NBA team/defense and defensive backcourt. Thats just being set up to fail. Though Herro and the Heat were able to take 1 game and adjust on the fly it wasn't sustainable. Circumstances and injuries are his main problems. If hes healthy this year i think fans will get the jump they've been expecting from him.

If Butler consistently played like a legit #1 guy then the pecking order can fall into place and Herro would be fine.
