No U.S Pro sports franchise since 77 can claim that distinction...LOL us lakers fans love to throw the baby out with the bath water..The Clips are doing better ? if you call signing porter & Jones a success than what do you call losing PG13 for nothing! would we say that if it were AD and the Lakers signed Bismack Biyombo & Derek jones to replace him? They lost Klay so? didn't they lakers also lose out on Kawhi how did that turn out for the Clips? what happened to that "haul" the Pels got? now they shopping Ingram the last player involved still on their roster. yet all we Lakers see is failure. correct Ownership isn't the same.. the Kids didn't build it? Remember Jerry traded Shaq, and Jerry refused to trade Worth for Magic Johnson's best friend Mark Aguirre. Lets continue.. low balling Alex Caruso to take a laker discount and then even after owning his bird rights not willing to go over cap to keep him and then investing that money on THT, drafting Jalen Hood Schifino over a seasoned pick last year and then instead of hiring a phil jackson zen master type coach that can coach super stars he hires JJ Reddick who has 0 coaching experience. oh and just one more to add sprinkles on top, to piss off Phil Handy who's the best coach they have actually had for the last few years and is one of the most trusted assistant coaches coaching in the NBA

We as fans are always going to be enthralled by big name free agents like Klay, but 4 years is not a good contract for someone who is 35 and declining. Fans complain about DLo, but what has Klay done over the past year? He was bad in last year's playoff series loss against the Lakers, he was benched for a period of games this past season, and was awful in a must win play in game this year that saw the Warriors get blown and miss they playoffs. I too like the Klay coming home story, but at some point, it's going to look like a bad contract to have on their books.

Why no mention of AD when hes the best player? The Lakers and their fans can only blame lebron for their problems for 2-3 more seasons then realize it wasnt his fault but the front offices when they are in an even worse situation than they are now
@LockedOnLakers4 ай бұрын
I’m not “blaming” LeBron for anything. I never even said anybody did anything wrong to begin with. But were I to guess, I imagine the idea of a heavier regular season lift with LeBron vs. a lighter one with Luka/Kyrie was a factor (although not likely the only one) in Klay’s thinking, given he’s 35 himself. And the reason I point this out with LeBron as opposed to AD is that it’s not an issue with AD. He’s an elite defensive player who averages roughly 25 a night. He’s carrying a huge load on both ends. You could argue he carries the biggest overall two-way lift in the entire league. So there’s nothing to say about AD on this front. And as I’ve said many times, that LeBron has to pace himself over 82 games, especially on defense, is not a criticism. The guy is pushing 40. But it’s still a reality that creates complications for everyone around him. Anybody denying this is just willfully ignoring reality. AK

@@LockedOnLakers ahh yes klays denied the Lakers based on LeBrons lack of defense for all world defenders Kyrie and Luka I'd say CONFORTABLY LeBron is at least as good as Luka on defense like u said AD is an all world defender and when Vanderbilt is healthy the Lakers comfortably are better defensively than the Mavs I really don't see "LeBron has to pace himself" as a real deciding factor here even tho it is a fact that he has to. Especially since the Lakers are deeper and better defensively than the Mavs, even tho the top end talent of the Mavs is slightly better than the Lakers Also do u think that the Lakers couldnt have had the same run as Dallas if they fell into the 8 seed instead of the seven and losing to Denver? The Lakers and Dallas were the 2 hottest teams in the league after the deadline, the Lakers had a great matchup vs OKC and honestly I think even with the Klay addition they are still pretty close to at least Dallas?(Genuine question as I know u and I stay arguing in these comments) Also I ALWAYS appreciate ur responses

The report said he ultimately chose the mavs because of lower state taxes and the fact that the mavs were only 3 games away from winning the chip. Guess he thinks the Lakers are not close to a championship.

@@LockedOnLakers Andy love your work but gotta disagree. Klay will carry a heavier defensive load in Dallas. Who does Dallas now have to cover in the closing minutes vs Ant, Ingram, MP Jr, LBJ, Tatum, PG 13, Kawhi, KD? they gave that assignment to Derek jones Jr.. U can say Marshall but where does that leave Lively & PJ if luka, klay and Kyrie are on the floor. Same could be said for LA, but AD is behind him..Lively is good but he ain't in AD's world as a defender/rim protector.
@LockedOnLakers4 ай бұрын
@@hilamadventures4060 It's not just the defensive lift, though, regardless of how you frame it. Luka and Kyrie as playmakers and gravitational pulls will make Klay's life easier offensively in terms of not having to create his own looks more than any two-man combo in L.A. It's the overall responsibilities off his plate. Even with everything LeBron does offensively, if you look at the quarter-by-quarter breakdowns over the first 50-ish regular season games, his workload was paced. IMO, over the course of 82 games, particularly pre-All-Star break, there's a heavier lift here than in Dallas. Appreciate you watching. AK
