This is what happens when you pick playoff teams based on who people say are the "best" teams instead of what the teams have done on the field, opinions will never agree on who the "best" is. Playoffs for a NATIONAL championship should reward the teams who make it to their conference championship games, showing theyre the best of their conference and then have the champions and runnerups play for the national championship using the results of the conference championship game to determine seating in the playoffs and nothing more. Then the rest of the field can take the 3rd or possibly 4th team in each conference as the rest of the playoff field based on a ranking system.

Because of guaranteed bye round guarantees Conference Champs have the effective top 4 seeds. The remaining ranked teams should be seeded for the first round beginning with ranked number 5 then as first round seed number 1 and on down. @PatrickWashington-t7f Michigan is 7-5 (and would likely be 8-4 if they had not scheduled Texas) and Arkansas is 6-6. Home vs road is irrelevant. Everyone gets half their games at home and half on the road. Even if I did concede that point to you it would only be a slight advantage to TN, and you still wouldn't have as many good wins. Beating PSU and Indiana is more impressive than beating 9-3 Bama who lost to Vandy and Oklahoma. At least Indiana and PSU did not lose any games they were not supposed to.

Arkansas 6-6, yes, Michigan would be also if OSU didn’t give up their home field. As for the Indiana and Penn State wins, Vandy and Oklahoma would beat both those teams by 2 scores 9/10 times. Those wins are only impressive due to the number beside their name. And that is because neither team has played a good team outside of OSU! TN is undefeated at home, finished the season strong. OSU lost at home to a trash team the last game of the season. Both playoff teams have 2 losses. It’s pretty obvious who deserves home field advantage in the playoffs.

@@zachsain3381 The season is 12 weeks not 2 bud. Why should a loss in September count less than one in November? All 12 games should be weighed equally regardless of when they occurred. Vandy and Oklahoma would not beat PSU or Indiana. That is laughable, and we cannot continue to debate if you are going to do so in bad faith like that. I also don't consider losing to GA two weeks ago "finishing the season strong."
